Playing with a New Friend

Today Kristine Herr came over with her baby, Jonathan, who is four days younger than Calleigh. Calleigh was in fact, born on his due date. If you don't know who Kristine is, she is the wife of Michael Herr who is a relative of my relative if you can follow that. Michael and I worked together in Accounting at one time. Anyway, they came over around 12:30 and spent a couple of hours here. You can tell that they have a dog because Jonathan was much more comfortable with Dewey and Marlee jumping on him than our friends from yesterday. He and Calleigh had a good time playing together. I use the word playing loosely because anyone that has been around babies knows they don't really play together so much as they play next to each other. At one point they did both try to get the same toy and there was a little jostling going on but it ended well. Jonathan seems quite grown up for his age. I think it is mainly because he looks older. But he's also doing very well with walking. He takes several steps on his own. Maybe Calleigh will be inspired. She still isn't showing much interest in walking. She loves to stand up and hold onto things while she moves around but has zero interest in walking while you hold her hands. I guess she'll do it when she feels like it so I should just let her be.

I put Calleigh down for a nap after they left and for the second day in a row, she didn't sleep. She played in her crib for almost an hour and then I went up to get her. She did have a dirty diaper so I'm hoping that was the reason for her not sleeping. If it's not that, than maybe she just doesn't want to sleep in the afternoons anymore....Boy, it was a good few weeks if that's the case.

Tonight I went to my Bible study that meets on Monday nights. There are six of us girls that meet at Carolyn's house who is a person that I met through my friend Lauren. We started out reading the book of Matthew and now we've moved on to reading a book called "The Uniqueness of Jesus." I'm enjoying it very much. It's a great opportunity to learn some new things, be reminded of the old things, and to also make new friends. Unfortunately Lauren wasn't there tonight as her baby, Caroline, is sick and Lauren is under the weather as well. Too bad because I had a gift for Caroline who turned one last week.

Speaking of birthdays, I want to give a shout out to my Aunt Lori who is celebrating a special birthday today. Happy birthday Aunt Lori!
