Just like Gigi!

She may only be 10 1/2 months, but already Calleigh has taken on some of the eating habits of her grandmother - - which is a good thing. She loves everything I feed her and she hums while she eats. This past week I've been feeding her a variety of foods from breakfast links to chicken slices to plain pasta. A few days ago I made Gigi's macaroni and cheese and that's what Cal and I both had for lunch today. I had to cut hers up into smaller pieces of course, but she gobbled it right down. With all of these finger foods, it has created a bit more of a mess. Enter Dewey and Marlee who are more than willing to clean up. The other day after Cal had finished a meal, I took her out of her highchair and then went to the sink to clean her tray. I turned around and there were both Dewey and Marlee standing on their hind legs with their snouts in her empty highchair looking for anything that hadn't made it into Cal's mouth. The dogs can be a pain when they're begging for food but I must admit, it did save me the trouble of having to clean. The other problem with the dogs is that Calleigh thinks its fun to offer them a handful of what ever she's eating. That same hand is then going into her mouth. A little dog saliva never hurt, right? Actually, we're getting some gates any day now that we're going to put up to block off the kitchen. That will also solve the problem of her getting into the dogs' food and water bowls which is such a fun little game. You say "no" and hit her hand away and she just laughs. Oh boy.

Between the messy eating and the crawling, I'm giving Calleigh a bath just about every night now. By the end of the day, her legs and feet are all dirty. No, she isn't going outside. She's getting that from our wood and tile floors. I'm a little embarrassed about that but who has time to clean their floor every day? Fortunately she loves bath time and has a great time playing with all her toys. Maybe she gets her love of baths from me since she obviously doesn't take after me in the eating department.

Have a happy Sabbath!
