Today was a busy day for us. The morning was pretty normal. Calleigh woke up at 7:30, nursed, ate, played, and went down for a nap around 9:45. I also toke a short nap since I didn't get to sleep until about 1:30 last night. I think those cups of tea did me in although it's hard to imagine they were still affecting me when I went to bed considering I drank them at lunch. After Cal had lunch, we left the house for the day with the first stop at Old Navy and Babies R Us. Duncan had a gift certificate for Old Navy from his birthday. Duncan got something but then we couldn't help ourselves and had to buy a couple of things for Cal too.

After shopping, we headed to the Isidros for Braelyn's birthday party. She turned one on March 16 but they waited until today to have the party so that family could all be in town. Calleigh had a good time playing with Braelyn and her toys and with a little boy, Jesse, who is nine months old. The highlight of the party, by far, was watching Braelyn eat her birthday cake.
They had a small special cake just for her that they put on her highchair tray and just let her dig in. What a mess! I can't wait for Calleigh to do that for her birthday. And Dewey and Marlee can lick it all off. Ha! We played a game at the party that we'll have to duplicate for Calleigh. We were shown 12 photos of Braelyn and we had to guess how old she was in each photo (with one photo for each month 1 - 12). I'm proud to say that I got the most right out of everyone (including her mother!) with seven.

After the party, we hightailed it home just long enough to change into warmer clothes - - both Cal and I had on sun dresses and it ended up raining all afternoon and got cooler - - and grab some supper for the road for Cal. The final stop of the day was at Ronald and Tiffany Odiyar's house for a Bible study.
Ronald (who is Duncan's employee for those that don't know him) started a Bible study that will meet each Sunday evening. The first few weeks are just a "get to know ya" and devotional time but then we'll start studying a particular topic to be determined. This evening there were five couples there including us. There was actually a meal served this evening - - a good old Adventist staple, haystacks. I told Calleigh "I bet Papa wishes he were here if he knew what we were eating." Calleigh was so good. She crawled all over the floor and was smiling at everyone. One of the ladies asked me, "Is she always this happy and smiling?" We did have a little incident at the end when she was playing around on the coffee table and knocked over a glass of white grape juice. Thank goodness they picked that beverage to serve. All in all it was a fun day and when Cal finally got into bed at 7:40, she was completely tuckered out. She had plenty of activity this afternoon and only slept for about 15 minutes in the car. It all starts again tomorrow!
