Daddy Takes Charge

This morning I woke up with a terrible headache. And then I did something stupid. I took two Tylenol and then started nursing Calleigh. That did not work well on my empty stomach and by the time she was done nursing, I had to make a beeline to the toilet. Boy, it's so much more pleasant when your vomiting due to a different situation. At any rate, all I wanted to do was get back into bed. Thankfully Duncan stepped up to the plate and offered to take Cal to church and cradle roll. So I packed him his diaper dude (as a man's diaper bag is so eloquently called) and off he went. I knew Cal was in the best of hands. She loves being with Daddy! Fortunately after some rest and two cups of (caffeinated) tea, I felt much better.

After Cal woke up from her nap this afternoon, we were hoping to do something outdoors but alas, the weather had other ideas. Around 5:30, it looked like it has stopped so I threw some pants and a sweatshirt on Cal (it had cooled down) and headed out for a walk. We didn't even make it a full lap when it started pouring again. So we did get a little wet but we were no worse for wear.

Since outside was not an option, Cal decided to play in the kitchen. As you can see, I opened the cupboard door and let her have at it. She had a fun time playing with the Tupperware lids and rolling pins. As you can also see, when I threw some pants on her for the walk, they did not match (the sweatshirt she was wearing covered up the green shirt). If you look closely at the picture of her holding the green rug, you can see her top left tooth which is now peeking out. Shortly after I took these pictures, I went to the trash can to throw something away. I stepped down on the peddle to open the lid and I didn't pay attention as I took my foot off. Cal started screaming. She had put her hand on the peddle and when I moved my foot, it got caught. Oh, how I hate to hear the screams of pain. I quickly rescued her and she cried for a minute or two as I looked at the indentations on two of her fingers but thankfully she seems to have recovered just fine.
