So This is What it's Like to Eat with the Grown-Ups

Here is some more video of Calleigh walking. This one is a little better than the one yesterday. But it still doesn't show at her walking best. Naturally, she likes to do her best walking when I'm not actually recording it. But I'll probably keep posting new video each day as it gets better and better.

We had a nice day at church today although I spent much of the service in the training chapel as usual. Calleigh did show off some of her walking while we were in there. At one point, she walked over to these two little girls (maybe ages 5 and 7) that were sitting in seats drawing on pieces of paper. They weren't paying any attention to Calleigh but she was determined that they would notice her. At first, she sat down in front of them and waved. When that didn't work, she got closer and started patting one of the girl's dresses. They finally looked at her and she smiled broadly.

We had another cake incident in Sabbath School. A little boy turned two and out came the cake. We watched Calleigh closely and sure enough, she got upset and went to Daddy and put her arms around his neck and wouldn't let go. If it wasn't so sad, it would be cute. Okay, it is actually cute. Shannon captured the moment on camera. As you can see, I don't look too perturbed.

Allen, Tangie, and Braelyn came over for lunch. We had a nice time although towards the end, Calleigh was getting pretty grumpy for the lack of a nap. Here is a picture of Braelyn with some toys and her sippy cup. Calleigh wanted to get her hands on that sippy cup very badly so Braelyn decided she needed to take the show on the road. Calleigh broke out into tears right after this picture was taken so I took her up to bed where she fell right to sleep.

Finally, Duncan and I had our outing to the Cheesecake Factory tonight. Most of the time when we are out to eat, my attention is fully on Calleigh, cutting up her food, making sure she isn't throwing everything on the floor, and generally just keeping up with putting food on her mat since she eats so quickly. So it is such a treat when we can go out by ourselves and I can focus on my own food and dining experience.
Thankfully we only waited for about 5 minutes for a table. It wasn't the best service we've ever had but with Shannon back at the homestead with a sleeping Calleigh, we were in no rush. Plus, we had a $50 gift certificate - - everything seems a little nicer when you know you don't have to pay. After eating, we went to Borders to browse some magazines. What a Saturday night!
