Aunt Toni, Alison, and Shannon arrived this evening at 8:30. They got here in time to watch the beginning of the Celtics game which is not necessarily a good thing now that we see what's happening. It's brutal. The good news is that it's still the first half. Anyway, they didn't set any records in getting here but they weren't racing as they say. They spent the night in Richmond and finished the last 12 hours today. Funny story about the trip - - Toni was feeling really sick yesterday so they gave her drugs and kept her in the backseat for the whole day. In fact, she was so medicated, she couldn't even walk straight at the rest stops. This morning as they left the hotel, she felt a lot better and she told the girls that she was going to get behind the wheel and drive them to Florida. Thirty minutes later, she was pulled over for speeding and got a ticket! So they put her back in the backseat for the rest of the trip. They were afraid she'd drive too slowly after that!
Today we went to the mall to look for some Father's Day gifts. We were successful but I won't say anything more about it. Calleigh spent a little time in the indoor playground much to her delight. We actually got very close to an injury through no fault of our own. Calleigh was sitting in a tree stump (a fake one, of course) that has sides that are about four feet tall. All of a sudden, this little kid who was probably about three, runs by and throws his big metal truck over the side. It came about 3 inches from hitting Calleigh in the head. I'm guessing it would have done some damage. If it had hit her, I was wondering what I would have done had she been bleeding? Would I have gotten the parent's information and tried to make them pay for whatever happened? Okay, I've officially been watching too much Judge Judy!
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Calleigh is saying "Daddy" quite clearly now. She saying it similarly to "Mum-Me" with the emphasis on the last part of the word. She's also been trying to say "cup" but it's coming out as "bup."
Here is a picture of Calleigh playing in the refrigerator. Whenever I'm working in the kitchen, I usually close the gate so Calleigh can't get in. This usually makes her very upset. She'll be perfectly fine playing at the far end of the living room but as soon as she sees that gate close, she immediately decides she wants to get into the kitchen. She'll hang on the gate and cry and, of course, I feel very bad and end up letting her in.
To keep her out of trouble (i.e., the dog food), I either open the dishwasher or the refrigerator and let her play in there. The fridge is her favorite. I'm sure the environmentalists would be appalled to know that I leave my fridge open for sometimes 10 minutes at a time. Well, that's the update for now. The game is at the half and the Celtics are down by 17. The ladies are beginning to fade. Although I just saw some energy coming from Shannon because Alison's feet touched Shannon and made Shannon go bonkers. She is not a feet person.

Give my greetings to the Ladies from New Hampshire. Your house is just like your parents home -- always someone dropping in. It is fun though right? I believe Mother has a hard time in discipling Calleigh. You will pay for it down the road!! Oh well!! She looks cute playing in the Frig and your electric bill will not look as cute. Nothing much is happening here in Largo. I bought a lovely Crepe Myrtle tree and Clarence planted it for me in the front of the house. I hope to be the envy of the park with the beautiful flowers that appear on the tree. Give Calleigh a big kiss and I know you are teaching her to say Shir'ley right? Have a good Sabbath. Aunt Shirley
