We were at Walmart yesterday picking up a few things and Calleigh was on the loose. She made a stop to look at the little girl underwear but had to scratch her head trying to figure out how it works. By the way, the visor she's wearing is one she found along her route.
Things are going well. I have been suffering from some nausea but no vomiting which is quite the opposite from my last two experiences. We'll have to see if the old wives tale is true - - if your pregnancy is different than before, than you're having a baby of the opposite sex! Obviously that would mean a boy. Either way we'll be happy. If it's a boy, than we would have one of each which would be great. If it's a girl, we already have all the clothes and because the birthdays are so close together, the clothes sizes would align with the seasons just right. Plus, I'd get to dress the girls in matching outfits! We have a wait to find out since it's around 20 weeks or so that you get the ultrasound to see the sex. That would put the date just after Christmas.
Sabbath was a great day except for Calleigh's behavior during church. I brought out all the new toys and gadgets. Sure, they interested her but she wanted to talk in a perfectly loud voice while playing with them. As you know, I'm such a stickler for being "that guy" (as Duncan calls it) when it comes to noisy children and I hate to bother people or have them thinking "Look at those terrible parents who let their kid be so noisy during the church service." So Duncan ended up taking Calleigh out. I told Duncan he was on duty because I had burned my finger earlier that morning boiling some macaroni and it was really bothering me. As it turns out, "out" ended up being to just the lobby. Due to the Mark Finley meeting, the mother's room is closed because they have a bunch of equipment in there. That's until December 6. I'm really not sure what we'll do now. Hopefully they have other arrangements somewhere. For people that are still nursing (which is me, although I can skip it if need be), it's a real hassle not to have somewhere to go. This should be a top priority of a church. Anyway, I guess we'll have to practice talking with a quiet voice so that maybe things will be quieter this Sabbath. Thanks for the advice, Gigi.
On Saturday night (after a great dinner at Ron & Elaine's), Toni, Terry, and Shannon came over. Toni said that she would stay home with Calleigh (who was in bed) while we went out. We decided to go to TCBY and Borders. Exciting, huh? For me it is! We called Megan to meet us at TCBY. So as the four of us were sitting there at TCBY waiting for Megan, Terry noticed the Outback across the street and said something to the affect that he really liked that place. The next thing I know, he and Duncan are talking about steak and Shannon and I are saying that we felt more like food than yogurt. So we decided to go there instead! Megan was game for that too. It was a very enjoyable time - - always is when you can eat like a normal person. We ended up scratching Borders and went home from there.
Sunday was the typical day. First Watch for brunch and then the football game. Both lived up to its expectations. Scoreboard watching is in full force - - not necessarily because of the Patriots and going for first place - - but because of our football pool. Elaine and I were tied at the top of the overall leaderboard (out of about 33 people) starting the day. And at the end of it, we're still tied. Our next closest competitor, Duncan, is three points behind. So its getting intense! A woman has never taken first place in the six years of the pool so hopefully that will be change this year. Just so you know, the pool consists of picking the winner of every game each week.
Today Calleigh and I went to the library for story time. It took us quite a while to
find a parking space thanks to all those early voters! Who said that was a good idea?? I'm just kidding of course, but it does make things slightly more difficult for us. I was hoping Calleigh would participate a little bit more since I know she does "Open, Shut" but she just sits in my lap and watches everything that goes on. Until the bubbles come out and then she's out of my lap faster than a blink of an eye.
I think that's all the news that's fit to print as they say. I'm very tired so I'm going to call it a night.
