"Jesus is Coming?"

For the sermon today Pastor Morris was talking about the hope we have about the second coming. At the end of the sermon, he stated that Jesus is coming again. Calleigh was sitting on the pew playing with her stickers or some such thing but when she heard Pastor Morris make this statement, she quickly stood up on the pew and started craning her neck, looking all around the church. She asked over and over again, "Jesus is coming?" She really thought he was coming there right then. I felt so bad to tell her that he wasn't actually coming at that very moment. I can only imagine in her little mind how exciting it would be to see Jesus in person after seeing his picture in all her books and talking about him so much. Some day, Calleigh!

We had a very fun afternoon today. After nap time we went to the Zbaraschuk's for a visit and haystacks since Stephanie and Matthias Vohwinkel, our friends who moved to Texas about six years ago, are in town. They have three kids including a baby boy, Kaden, who is about seven weeks old (but bigger than Aubree). They drove here so we could relate to each other regarding long car trips. Anyway, there were a bunch of other people over as well and all said, there were at least a dozen kids under the age of about six and Calleigh had such a good time. Naturally she had a little fit when we finally had to leave. We had to drag her away from doing ring-around-the-rosy. It was almost their bed time when we left and so we had to listen to Aubree cry the whole way home. I call it the witching hour - - it starts at about 6:30 - 6:45 and lasts until she has her last meal of the day at 7:45. She's not usually a happy camper during that time. By the way, I posted most of the pictures for this on Facebook. Blogger is really driving me crazy with how long it's taking to upload pictures so you may not see that many on here any more.

But speaking of Aubree, she turned four months old today and I'm pleased to report that she is officially rolling over from her back to her stomach. Calleigh didn't achieve that feat until late October. For some reason, Aubree hasn't rolled over yet the other way - - front to back which is strange because that's typically what they do first since it's easier. This may spell the end of the swaddling although I hope not. She is breaking out of the swaddle a lot of the time and I have to fix it during the night because I'm afraid that it will suffocate her or something since it bunches up around her neck. But I'm trying to hang on to it as long as possible because I remember what a hard time Calleigh had going to sleep without it once we stopped it with her. Aubree goes to sleep without a peep every night and I don't want to lose that!

On Friday I hit up one small yard sale after I dropped Calleigh off at Grandma's house. As luck would have it, I found a paperback version of "Uncle Arthur's Bedtime Stories" which I'm sure every Adventist kid has read. I know I loved those books and I can remember so many of the stories to this day. They are 20 hard cover volumes to the complete set and I found a used set on Amazon for $299 so obviously they aren't cheap! So for now, I was happy to get a paperback version with about 20 stories for only $.50. It's a good starting point. Calleigh may not be quite ready yet for the stories since they are geared for maybe kids a little older but we'll see.

Friday evening we went to David and Megan's (sad, now that there are only two cousins instead of three, we don't really have to call it the "cousins" any more) for supper. Aunt Sherrie was there and we spent our last time with her before she returned to Vermont this evening. After our waffles, we went outside to feed the ducks. They are quite aggressive ducks you could say. Calleigh had a waffle in her hand and they practically attacked her to get at it. She threw it on the ground at the last minute or I have no doubt they would have grabbed it right from her.

Also on Friday, my friend Nicole stopped over. I hadn't seen her in a while and she's gone through a few dramatic experiences since we last were together, namely a severe bout of pancreatitis which required hospitalization and having to put her dog, Anya, to sleep on 9/11 due to kidney failure. You could say it's been a rough few weeks for her. But we did our best to cheer her up and Calleigh give her a nice hug at the end. Nicole is one of those truly wonderful, kind people.

That's it for now. Have a great rest of the weekend.
