We wrapped up our visit with Kelly and Steve by taking them to their ship on Monday morning at Port Canaveral. As we pulled up to the ship, I couldn't help but reminisce about all of our wonderfully relaxing cruises. Then and there I decided that if things can work out schedule wise with my mom's work and I have Aubree off the boob, Duncan and I will go on like a 3-day cruise next September while my mom watches the girls. Yeah, it's a year away but it's something to look forward to!
I guess Calleigh didn't use up much energy just sitting in the van because she wanted nothing to do with a nap yesterday afternoon. She had been in her crib for like an hour and half and I heard a bunch of noise so I went to investigate. Everything had been thrown on the floor and she was asking for some new stuff. I gave her some new toys in the hopes she would settle down. About ten minutes later, Aubree woke up so I tiptoed by Calleigh's room because it was very quiet and I thought/hoped she was sound asleep.

I peeked around the corner to be sure only to see her in her completely empty crib, she was completely naked including diaper, and she was shaking water our of her Nuby onto her, shall we say, private parts. The rest of her had water all over it too. Ahhh yes, fun times. Bottom line was that no nap took place and I said a little prayer that this was not a trend. Every time it happens I always freak out that she's done with naps. Anyway, about 4:45 we got in the van to go over to Ron & Elaine's to check on the cats and get the mail. Of course, within about five minutes the poor thing was sound asleep. I drove around about 10 extra minutes, just long enough for Aubree to fall asleep too before I pulled into the driveway. Since they were both asleep, I said, why not?? I put the seat back, shut my eyes, and that's how Duncan found us a little later.

Part of the reason I was so tired was because Aubree had a bit of a tough weekend sleep wise. With Kelly and Steve here, Aubree bunked with us in her Pack and Play. It didn't work out very well. I could hear every toss and turn and she broke out of her swaddle multiple times. Sunday night was the worst. She would go to bed each time just fine but as soon as we would come in there to go to bed, she would wake up and not want to go back to sleep. She wouldn't cry. She would just turn this way and that and bang her legs off the bottom of the Pack and Play as if she were a whale flapping her tale on the water. I couldn't take it any more so I brought her into bed with me which never seems to go well. Sure, she pretty much sleeps just fine but I have a rough time sleeping soundly because I'm so paranoid about it. Fortunately last night was very peaceful with her back in her crib although she woke up at 6:30. The problem still is her swaddle. We're forever re-swaddling her when she gets her hands free so finally tonight I decided to try the sleep sack. She played around with it for about ten or fifteen minutes but then went to sleep (after I put her binky back in a few times too) without any crying or anything. She's sleeping with her arms up over her head right now as if to signal touchdown. We'll see how the rest of the night goes. She could wake up several times during the night and not get herself back to sleep. But she's already exceeded my expectations.
In closing, here are a couple of pictures of us from our walk around the neighborhood this evening. Duncan got home a little earlier than usual this evening so we had time to stroll around before it was time to get ready for bed.
