We've had a very nice week spending time with Aunt Camille. Calleigh has done a decent job of adding the "aunt" and I make sure that is how I always refer to her. I do notice that Camille and Duncan aren't so good with remembering the aunt part though.
On Tuesday morning, Camille was on babysitting duty while I went to my doctor's appointment. On this visit, I had to do the test for Diabetes which consists of drinking a very sugary orange drink and then getting my blood tested an hour later. Apparently they'll call me if the test comes back positive but I'm certainly not expecting that to happen. I also had to get my Rhogam shot which people with negative blood type (in this case A-)have to get at around 28 weeks. This is given so that if the baby has a positive blood type (which did happen in the case of Calleigh), my body doesn't try to reject it. I've come a long way with getting shots - - which I'm deathly afraid of. When I got the shot with Calleigh, I had to have a friend come with me and hold my hand and I was practically hyperventalating. At that time, it had been 16 years since I had had a shot. And of course, it turned out to be a tiny shot that was no big deal at all. So this time, I barely even blinked when she gave it to me although it did hurt a little more this time it seemed. Anyway, the big news to come out of the appointment was that I got my c-section scheduled. The date is Tuesday, May 19. As I've said, Calleigh birthday is on Sunday, the 17th. I couldn't schedule it on a Sunday and then I decided that one day in between would be a good idea and then of course, you don't want to get too close to the due date of the 25th so that left the 19th as the optimal day. So we now know that she will be born no later than the 19th. I keep reminding myself that it's possible she could come earlier than that so the 19th isn't written in stone. As you may notice, I'm still referring to the baby as "she" which means that no, we still don't have a name picked out.
Late Tuesday afternoon, Aunt Toni returned back from being up north with Mimi so she and Uncle Terry came over for supper with Shannon to see Camille. We had a nice visit and Aunt Toni caught us up on how Mimi is doing (which is pretty good).
Wednesday morning, Calleigh, Camille, and Elaine went to the zoo. I told Elaine that as much as we enjoyed her company the real reason we asked her along was because the two pregnant women didn't want to chase Calleigh around! I didn't even bother to take the stroller this time because I knew she wouldn't sit in it. I purchased a little backpack (that was made fun of by Duncan and Shannon) so that I wouldn't have to haul the diaper bag around (which would usually reside in the stroller instead of Calleigh). It's actually not that bad at the zoo in terms of chasing her around as compared to Disney World but Elaine did have to chase her a few times. Near the end of the visit, we saw a little girl Calleigh's age and her mother was using one of those leases.
The last activity at the zoo was a ride on the train which we hadn't done the other times we've been there. Elaine was the one that took her and she enjoyed it as expected. And as expected cried when she had to get off. They went through a tunnel on the ride and she's been talking since then about how she went through a tent and it was dark. I guess the tunnel seemed like a dark tent to her.
On Thursday, the three of us went to Walmart for groceries and then we dropped Camille off at the cousin's apartment so she could lay out at their pool. When we picked her up after Calleigh's nap, she definitely had gotten some sun. But now she at least looks like she was in Florida. Shannon came over last night after work and we had pizza night and watched American Idol.
This evening we went to waffle night as usual and Camille got to meet Yully. Presently, we are talking with Shawn on google chat and Duncan is trying to persaude Shawn to tell us what their girl name is that they picked up (and obviously aren't using this time around). But Shawn refuses to do so. I told them that as much as I would like to know it, I doubt I would like it anyway since I've been through an entire 100,000 name baby book and barely found 5 girls names I like.
Calleigh is doing very well although she's had a cough for the past few days. It really only comes out mainly when she's first waking up and then disappears for the rest of the day. She has no other issues so I've pretty much just going with the flow. I had Shannon bring her stethoscope over to try to listen to it but Calleigh freaked out. We let her play with it for a little while and she got comfortable with it but Shannon was never able to listen. Anyway, the other big (it's all relative, of course) is that Calleigh now appears to be off baby food. Baby food you say, at 21 months? Indeed. I have been mixing baby food veggies in her oatmeal and giving that to her for breakfast. She's always willingly eaten it and I loved the fact that she was getting at least 2+ servings of vegetables out of the way. But since Duncan started giving her part of his smoothie in the mornings, she's rejected the veggies. So I think that has officially been retired.

There seems to be a contradiction in the very heart of this post. You said that Camille was excited to go canoeing because she had never seen an alligator. Yet, I am staring at a picture of an alligator that was obviously taken at the zoo a few days before (there is a reflection through glass). Hence, when Camille saw an alligator today, it was not the first time she had seen one in person.
Besides: when we were in Florida a few years back, staying at your place, there was a small alligator that was sunning on a log in your pond that we saw. But I digress. . . .
Well, I should have said "seen one in the wild." In fact, I think I might have said that originally but when I went to post the picture, it accidentally deleted what I had written and I had to hastly re-write it.
