On Saturday night, we had a baby shower for Camille hosted by moi at our house. We just had a small group which consisted of Elaine, Shannon, Aunt Toni, Aunt Wanda, Aunt Mary, Debbie, Megan, and Tiffany. I made dinner and Aunt Wanda brought her famous 7-Up salad (hmmm, I may need to get some leftovers of it right after this...). The shower started at 7 so Calleigh was up for the first part of it. Even though she had eaten shortly before we did, as soon as she saw the food, she wanted some of what we were eating. So she sat at the table next to Debbie and tried to reach for stuff off her plate. I got her to bed promptly at 7:45 and she went down without a peep.
The gift opening followed the games and Camille got quite a few nice thing including a base for their car seat, a Baby Bjorn carrier, a Moby wrap, and lots of great clothes. I gave her all the clothes that I had purchased at the yard sales so that was fun for me. The only downside is that she wasn't able to take anything back with her since she flew. Toni and Terry will take the stuff back with them in their motor home when they head north at the end of April.
The menfolk (Duncan, Uncle Terry, and Ron) went out on what I call a "man date" and returned shortly after our festivities wrapped up. They went to see "Slumdog Millionaire" which Uncle Terry had already seen twice but this is his new "Shining Through" and "Seabiscuit" so he didn't mind.
Camille was due to leave on Sunday at 2 pm so we decided to hit up First Watch at 8:30 instead of our usual 11:45, anticipating that we would be taking her to the airport. However, during our drive to the restaurant, she got a call from JetBlue saying her flight was cancelled due to the weather up north. So after we ate, we made a beeline back her for her to try and get online to reschedule her flight. It was a very frustrating process.
After we got all that worked out, we decided to venture to Ikea to look for a new bookshelf. With all the changes we're making to the baby room, we needed a place for all the books that didn't get taken to the Salvation Army.
This morning Camille accompanied us to story time and Calleigh had a great time as usual. It's amazing how far she had come. She used to just sit there like a bump on a log but today when "Jump, Jump" came on, she got up and was jumping up and down pretty much by herself in the middle of the room. Fortunately I took a video and here it is!
Camiile's flight left this afternoon at 4:50 which means we needed to leave around 3:00. Since Calleigh was napping, I had Duncan come home so we didn't have to wake her up. It turns out that Camille's flight got delayed by about an hour but I still took her at the aforementioned time since you don't want to end up being late if it goes out sooner than expected. I just got the call from her a few minutes ago that she has landed so all's well, that ends well. She did cancel school today so fortunately she didn't miss anything with that. We are sorry to see her go though. Calleigh had such a good time with her. Camille had this little rhyme that she would tell Calleigh that goes "My name is Chilly Willy, ah, he, a-choo" or something to that affect. Every time she would say it, Calleigh would say "Willy again." And then "Willy again." I think Camille could literally say it 30 times and Calleigh would still be asking for it again.

I don't think it's necessary to point out that Shannon and Toni as a team was last. Now is it supposed to be were last or was? Nevertheless, we had a great time at Camille's shower! Aunt Toni
