What the Heck is That?? (Caution: Graphic Picture Below)

So yesterday, I took Calleigh over to Ron & Elaine's to check in on the cats and to take a swim in the pool. We saw Max right away hanging out on the porch but Susie was no where to be seen. That was a little strange considering that she's usually always waiting near the door when we arrive. I started looking for her all over the house and when I got into Ron & Elaine's room, there was a little present waiting for me on the floor. My first thought was that it was a regurgitated mouse. I really thought I could see a face. I was aghast. I could hear Calleigh creeping around behind me as I stood there so I quickly did an about face and drew her attention elsewhere. When I recounted this story to Duncan he asked "What did you do?" My reply, "Nothing." "So you didn't clean it up." That was an affirmative. How was I supposed to pick that "creature" up with a baby right there trying to touch it? Not going to happen. I figure that it will be in the same place when Duncan goes over there tomorrow. Of course, Duncan assures me that it's just a big hair ball but I'm happy for him to just take care of it. What do you think? Mouse or hairball? Incidentally, I did locate Susie sitting on the dining room table chair. I think she was staring and laughing at us the whole time I was calling her name. Also, we did have a nice time in the pool. It's up to about 83 degrees and I thought it was quite comfortable although I never went all the way in. Calleigh does enjoy the water very much. It's so much fun watching her face when she's enjoying something like the pool.

Yesterday I picked me car up at the dealer after a week. I'm glad I wasn't in a hurry to get it back! We're $400 lighter in the pocket but at least my signal lights work, my coolant light no longer comes on, and the nub on my shifter doesn't keep falling off. They wanted to replace my break pads and do some other things but I think we're going to take it to a mechanic to which someone gave us a reference. I'm sure it will be a better deal than the dealer.

Last night Duncan went on baby duty at 6:30 so that I could go out to dinner with my friends Nicole, Heather, and Piglet from the hospital. I once would have said Accounting but since Heather is now a traitor working for HR, I have to just say hospital. We went to Mimi's Cafe and had a great time. I'm now up to date on all the latest news. Duncan had a bit of a tough time getting Calleigh to sleep. She went to bed at 7:30 but didn't actually settle down until 8:30. I don't know if it had anything to do with me not being there or what.

By the way, I think you should know that it is taking me twice as long to write this blog because I'm using my computer with the "o" that Duncan super glued on upside down. It's really hard to press the key and half the time it doesn't even press down. So I have to keep backspacing. Typically I use my work computer but that now has its own problems. Marlee got excited yesterday about going for a walk so she tried jumping up on me but instead landed on my computer and in the process, dislodged my "d," "e," and "6." I had to send the computer into the hospital to get repaired.

Today Lauren and Caroline came over for lunch and a play date. Boy, that sounds so "soccer Mom-ish" doesn't it? Anyway, we had a nice time chitchatting about all the foods the girls will and will not eat. Caroline has been a picky eater for some time so Lauren can relate to my frustrations as of late with Calleigh. I tried giving Calleigh some avocado for lunch but she wouldn't eat it today even though she liked it a few weeks ago. But really, I completely understand. It's so mushy and gross. She did eat something new today though - a sweet potato. Actually, it's only kind of new. She's eaten it many times in baby food form. Thankfully, she did like the "real" sweet potato too. Back to Caroline...her hair is getting so cute. It's just long enough in the back now that it's starting to curl and I can't help but be a little jealous on Calleigh's behalf. Someday. Someday.

This last picture is of Calleigh with my wallet. There is a picture of Duncan in there and I kept asking her, "Calleigh, where is the picture of Daddy?" And she would open the wallet and point to Duncan's picture. But everytime I would try to take a picture of her pointing, she would get distracted by the light that comes on when you are focusing the camera and she would forget what she was doing and instead, she would start touching the area where the light was shining. So I never actually got the picture of her pointing at Duncan.

Good thing I didn't take your computer from you, huh?
