First and foremost, I have to say Happy Mother's Day to my mother who is the most remarkable woman that I know. She sets the bar that I strive for on a daily basis. I have been so blessed to have her as a mother.
It's hard to imagine that one year ago, Calleigh was supposed to be born. This was my due date last year and obviously, she decided not to come right then. She had her own plans. Of course, she was well worth the wait.
We have had a nice weekend.
Last night, Ron & Elaine came over to babysit while Duncan and I went out for Mother's Day. I had no clue where we were going other than we would be outside. It turns out that there was something called "Picnic in the Park" at a park called Leu Gardens which is actually right across the lake from the hospital. People could bring in food and then there were also several jazz bands performing. We met up with Allen and Tangie who had brought all of the food - - very nice of them. It was a beautiful atmosphere. There were thousands of people spread out through the park. As the park's website describes it "Candlelit walks will illuminate the paths under a starry Florida sky to some of Central Florida’s best jazz & blues musicians." It was a very romantic evening and we really enjoyed ourselves. Thankfully, Calleigh stayed asleep while we were gone and didn't cause any problems.
After Calleigh took her nap this afternoon (no morning nap so she went down right after lunch), we went over to Ron & Elaine's to celebrate with them.
Elaine made her famous super salads and we had a lovely time sitting around the pool. The day was very warm but there was a nice breeze blowing through so it was quite comfortable. Tomorrow they are flying out to Oregon to meet with a client and won't be back until Thursday morning.
I knew Calleigh was pretty worn out from the pool so I got her into bed shortly after 7 and she went right to sleep. Duncan went to the Bible study as usual.
So that's that. It was a wonderful first Mother's Day. Oh, one other thing. Duncan and Calleigh got me an AeroGarden which I can use to grow my own herbs, cherry tomatoes, etc in my kitchen. I'm very excited! It will get here on Tuesday.

I wonder did it work this time? I noticed I made a mistake with the word "to" it should have been "too" and I really know better. Hope this one works too. I went into your blog and I think it worked but let me know okay? Love, Aunt Shirley
My mom has an AeroGarden, as you might remember from Christmas, and she loves it!!
