Waiting at the Altar

Have I mentioned that my very own brother is a published author? His book is entitled Waiting at the Altar. Here is a brief synopsis of the book:

In Waiting at the Altar, Shawn Brace explains that Christ is, indeed, close to returning, but there is one foundational mistake that we have made in interpreting the events of Christ's return. Are we waiting for Christ, or is it the other way around?

I know I'm biased but I'm reading it and it's excellent. Shawn has a way of writing that really keeps you engrossed. If you would like to pick it up yourself, it's available at Amazon.com or LNF Books.

I'm very excited because Shawn is flying down on Thursday and will be here through Monday. He's coming down to speak at Advent Hope at the Forest Lake Church on Sabbath. He'll be speaking three times. Of course, the fact that his trip coincides with Calleigh's birthday, is an added bonus!

So, what have we been up to the last few days? Not a whole lot. Yesterday we took a trip to Target for Calleigh to get some sandals. Since she doesn't walk, she never actually wears shoes except to church. It really makes her outfit look more polished when she wears her shoes! Since the weather has been in the high 80's or low 90's for awhile now, I decided she should probably break out some sandals instead of socks and shoes. Hopefully it isn't a big faux pas for her to be wearing her white sandals a few weeks before Memorial Day! Mother? What say you?

Today we met Duncan at Boston Market for lunch. Calleigh loves their macaroni and cheese. She couldn't get to it fast enough. Afterwards, we went over to the ABC to get some food. I really felt like some chip beef (or as Duncan refers to it -"prison food") but I was out of corn beef. Plus, when we were in Boston, Calleigh really enjoyed the scallops so we picked up some of that too.

My Aerogarden came today. As you can see from this picture, Calleigh was excited about its arrival! No, she didn't actually climb up on top of the box herself but she did try. Even more exciting for her, was the box that it came in. It's so wonderful how babies can amuse themselves with just regular items like a box. Earlier today, she played with three coasters with a picture of an Italian Greyhound on them for like 10 minutes. That's about two hours in baby time. That just doesn't happen.

The one real toy that she's into right now is putting the colored rings on the stand. We dump them on the floor for her and then guide her as she puts them on. "Calleigh, first the blue one. Good good. Now the green one, etc." The fact that a few times she actually picks up the colors as we say them, sometimes gives us false hope that she really knows her colors but I think at this point it's a coincidence. But we'll keep at it!

Well, I'm off to my bath. Good night!

My advice is to let her wear her white sandals as soon as you can get them on to her feet. Who cares about what time of the year it is? She is adorable and I am looking forward to seeing her and of course the rest of you on Friday for dinner. Don't do much of anything in regards to cooking, I don't care if it is only vegee hot dogs and that is all. I don't like cooking as you know.

Yes, kids love to play with just ordinary things in the house and we parents go thru hoops to get them toys that costs so much. Who cares? I can remember playing with sticks and the game was cops and robbers. I hope I was the cop and got all the robbers with my so called gun. More than likely I did knowing my good aim and my out smarting the stupid guys. Ha!!!

Take care and she is beautiful and looks just like the mother Duncan. Aunt Shirley
