Quick Update

It's late so I don't have a lot of time to write. I've been watching the Celtics playoff game against Cleveland and time got away from me.

We've had a good last couple of days. The weather improved - the sun came out - so that has been especially nice. Yesterday Alison came over in the early afternoon to spend some time with us before the bridal shower. We went over to Rosie's house here in Norfolk to visit with her and have lunch. I'm proud to say that I've eaten Ugandan food and I actually liked it. That's saying a lot since I generally don't like "foreign" food. We had a lovely visit.

Around 5:30 we left for Taunton and my mother's cousin Janet's house where my mom was hosting a bridal shower for Rad & Jen. It was nice to see everyone under good circumstances - - so often we only see them when someone has died. Thankfully Calleigh was an angel the whole evening. I was very apprehensive as she has been so grouchy in the afternoons. We didn't leave there until after 9 o'clock so I was very relieved that we could escape without her making a fuss. She fell asleep on the way home and fortunately went right back to sleep when I moved her to her bed.

Surprisingly she woke up at 7:15 despite the late night and didn't take much of a nap this morning either. After lunch, we headed over to Norwood and went to Bird Park with Freddy, Kathy, and Bruno. Bruno just learned how to ride a 2-wheeler so we got to see that. They had a bunch of toys there for Calleigh to play with which was fun. She went on the swings and played in the sand and went down the slide. I played some baseball with Bruno.

The real bummer came when we got back to my mom's car as we left the park. Someone had hit into the front side of her car and left a big dent. Naturally, they didn't leave a note and they were long gone. So there is nothing she can do but file a claim with her insurance. What a shame since the car is still pretty new.

Okay, that's it for now. We fly back tomorrow at 3 pm. Keep your fingers crossed that the plane won't be full.

Shoot! That is rotten about Mom's car. I hate that. What a rotten thing to have happen - especially since the person didn't leave a note. Whatever happened to courtesy?

I know - it stinks. I was so mad. We had our camera with us (obviously) and I started thinking, "Did I maybe take a picture in the parking lot where the car that did this was parked and got it in the background?" I was trying to think of any way possible we could find out who did it. But alas, we took no pictures in the parking lot.
