Blizzard Shmizzard

This was a dress that belonged to Duncan's sister, Kristin.  Thirty-five years later, here it is again.  Calleigh loves it!
It was with some great trepidation that I saw the headline yesterday on USAToday.com entitled "Historic Blizzard."  Of course, no snow is actually reaching us down here in sunny Florida where the high today reached almost 80.  However, it could greatly impact my life...very negatively.  My parents are scheduled to fly here on Thursday with the express function (at least for my mother) of watching the girls while Duncan and I set off on a high seas adventure aboard the Carnival Sensation.  I told my mother and Duncan that I'll believe it will happen when I'm on board and we're leaving port.  In the meantime, I'm freaked out about this storm or the possibility that Camille will go into early labor (she's due 2/18).  It's not supposed to actually be snowing on Thursday so I'm trying to keep the faith that it will all work out.

I'm going to attempt to keep this posting somewhat brief since there is much to do as there always is when you're leaving your house (hopefully) even for just three days.

Sabbath was church as usual (Forest Lake was back open for the kids after cleaning up all the water).  Saturday night we went to the Isidro's for what Allen coined PPM night.  Admittedly, I had no idea what this stood for so he clarified that it was "Pizza, Popcorn, and Movie."  When the introduced the movie ("It's Complicated") and asked if I'd seen it, I couldn't help but chuckle.  I've probably seen like 5 movies this year and that may be overstating it.  I'm the anti-Alison (if you're reading this cousin dearest).  Calleigh, who doesn't show much interest in eating pizza for some odd reason (hard to understand), only munched on popcorn, two large cups of juice, and some dessert.  I made brownie delight and they had also gotten an ice cream cake for my birthday.  We left around 9:15 (note to self, late bedtime does not bode well for First Watch in the morning with Aubree) and about four minutes after we left their house, Calleigh started complaining about a belly ache.  I said to her that it was no wonder with the popcorn, juice, and dessert that she had eaten.  So she says "You shouldn't give me juice any more."  I noticed that she didn't mention the brownies and ice cream but I was somewhat impressed that she seemed willing to give up the juice since she rarely gets it.  Anyway, we had to make a bathroom stop at 7-Eleven but nothing big happened.

This picture is blurry but at least you can see Braelyn and Calleigh's set up.  They watched a movie in the spare bedroom. That's a bucket of popcorn between them.  (My battery was still dead so Duncan used his cellphone for the pic.)
Sunday, goodness, I don't even remember what happened Sunday and that was only two days ago.  I guess it wasn't anything big.  I think I did some cleaning in the morning and then in the evening we went to Ron and Elaine's for supper.  Yup, that sounds about right.

Yesterday was a day of errands as we went to the Salvation Army to drop off some stuff, Target for a few things, and then hit up Publix to get a bunch more MorningStar stuff that's Buy One, Get One this week.  I've been waiting for it to go on sale for months (it was on a 6 week cycle in the summer but hasn't happened since August).  I ended up with 38 boxes of their various products paying a little over a $1/box on average (for comparison, it's usually $3.99 at Publix and $3.34 at Walmart at regular price).  I'm a little afraid to try to find anything in my freezer because it's PACKED.

This morning I had to go down to Enterprise to facilitate a car rental for Diana, the lady I hit.  The rental is a long story and it's probably better that I not get into it.  Duncan stayed here with the kids so I wouldn't have to cart them along so that was very nice.  Later in the morning, we were off to storytime and checked out a whole bunch of new books.  There was hardly anyone at storytime, I'm surmising because the weather was so nice today.  On the way back from the library, Calleigh was trying to get me to look at a picture in one of the books and I told her no, I can't look while I'm driving because I don't want to hit into anybody.  To which she said "Again?"  Thanks Calleigh!  I'm sure she'll keep reminding me of that little fiasco for awhile.

I have to mention one little thing about Calleigh that has come to light recently.  She's taking after my cousin Shannon in an unfortunate way.  She doesn't like feet!  She will not touch my bare feet nor wants them to touch her.  She accidently touched them yesterday and she freaked out and ran to get hand sanitizer as fast as she could.  Aubree's feet seem to be an exception though.

Speaking of Aubree, she's been frustrating me a little bit lately with her napping habits.  It's all over the place.  A few times in the last few days, including today, she's only napped from 2:00 - 3:15.  But yesterday it was 2:00 - 4:30.  I don't know what her deal is but I wish it would get fixed!  A nice, consistent two hour nap would be nice.

Okay, that's it.  Next time I write it will hopefully be after I've returned from a lovely 3-day kidless vacation.

I'm assuming they must have made it, since Thursday was fine weather-wise here. Have a fantastic time! Hey, in your story mentioning me, you didn't pull the punch-line!!! I'm sure you were going to say that It's Complicated was actually one of the 5 movies you had seen all year! Good movie - of course I have seen it!
