This picture has nothing to do with the tooth story but I loved it. Thanks Aunt Toni for the matching blue dresses! And the 2T actually fits Aubree.
Once at the dentist, he checked it out and apparently that area is just very weak and it sounds like it was from the root canal I had done 14 years ago right after the incident. He said the only real solution to this is to get an implant which means implanting a new root in that spot. It's a whole ordeal. They put in the new root and you just have some temporary tooth structure there for up to six months while the new root settles. Then they screw a crown into the new root. All for a cost of like $3,000. This is not an option for me now since I'm pregnant. The temporary solution is to just adhere the old crown back into the spot but he says there's only a 5 - 10% chance of it lasting. A post could be put in to attach the crown to but that would only have a 30% chance. The implant would be a 95% chance. Since I'm sure I'll end up with the implant anyway, we didn't do the post and now I have to basically wait for the other shoe to drop as far as the crown falling out again. It could happen at any time. His assistant actually said I should probably break bread into little bites before putting it into my mouth. What a dreadful thought. I'm sure the crown will be fine until I'm up in Canada come August. At any rate, it's now back in my mouth so I'm happy...for now.
There is one good thing, at least, that's come out of this. I don't need to get the retainer now. Once he put the tooth back in, it miraculously lined up as it should. I asked him if it was possible that the reason that the tooth had moved out of place (as we had discovered at my last appointment two weeks ago) was because it had this problem and already started to move. He admitted that yes, that was probably pretty likely. It's a little baffling that he wouldn't have thought of this himself when he was looking at it then.
Going back a few days...on Saturday evening, or late afternoon I should say, we went to the Family Movie Night over at the church. It was situated in the parking lot where we first had a picnic which included roasting hot dogs, had worship, and then watched a movie on the "big screen" after sunset. During the worship portion, they had kids come up front to sing and take part in an activity and Calleigh was only too willing to be up there. She didn't actually appear to be singing during the songs but she was up there nonetheless. We had one little fiasco when Calleigh took a drink of hot chocolate (which they had provided), found it too hot, and spit it out all over Aubree's head and jacket. So much for them not taking a bath that night!
Sunday morning after First Watch I took the girls to Lake Lily for the Farmer's Market. The main objective, as it usually is with Calleigh, is to play on the playground which we did. We did walk around a little too and shared a limeade. Obviously I didn't do enough to wear Calleigh out because Sunday started a three day pattern of no nap for her. I wouldn't even mind if she just did "quiet time" but it never works out as quiet time. Inevitably she's yelling downstairs every few minutes to report on something or another and ask when I'm going to check on her. Very frustrating.
Another playground activity she's able to now do by herself.
Yesterday I thought I had a doctor's appointment so off we trotted only to find out the appointment was on Wednesday. Oops. From there I had planned a trip to Michaels to get some new craft supplies (we're very much into crafts right now) only to get there (and get out) and find out that that location is basically deserted since they're moving to Waterford Lakes. So we're 0-2 at this point. Thankfully there was a Jo-Ann's nearby so we were able to pick up some things there (although my 20% off coupon for Michaels went to waste). We had some time after that so we stopped at a playground nearby, played there for awhile, and then stopped at one at Baldwin Park. I swear, sometimes I think it's our goal to hit every playground within a five mile radius.
This morning, as I mentioned, we did go the playground, which is one we hadn't been to in a long time. The one time we had gone there, I thought it was a little shady and I don't mean from the sun. However, since then, they built a new Orlando Magic rec center on the property so it's a much more respectable area now. I'm very glad we went because Calleigh played with the three kids there very heartily. They were running all over the place playing tag and I kept thinking "Run, run, run." And indeed, it did pay off because she conked out on what would have been Day 4 of no nap.
Other than this, not too much happening with the girls. We finished up the ear infection medicine yesterday and I've never seen them more distraught than not having any more medicine to take. It's like they were addicts or something. I think Calleigh may have even produced a tear when I threw the empty bottle in the trash. But seriously, apparently the stuff tasted pretty good.
A few pictures to end things...
One of Calleigh's craft projects made with these felt bendy things. That yellow thing is supposed to be a "U." I did help her with the "R" but other than that, she did the rest on her own.
Making an American Flag picture for President's Day.
This morning Aubree had some sort of mishap and was crying and Calleigh put her on her shoulder to comfort her and said "It's okay, it's okay."

Sorry about the tooth--I can emphatize!
Loved the pics.
Papa
Just me getting caught up again - hope the tooth stays put! I can imagine it is scary! I have a recurring nightmare of my teeth falling out. I think it is from my mother telling me that if I continued to eat so much candy they would fall out!
