Two for Two

There are always about four to eight weeks (assuming the Sox make the playoffs) during the months of September and October when the Sox and Pats play on the same day. Often it is at the same time and it's a challenge flipping back and forth as you try to watch both games. Since the Pats played at four today, there was no conflict. Instead, we got to watch both teams pull off important victories. Of course, I wasn't watching the Pats quite as closely as I would have liked since Calleigh got up from her nap at 4:30. She would actually have slept longer but I woke her up so as not to interfere with going to be tonight. Sidebar here - - the reason she slept so long this afternoon is because she was up at 6:15 this morning screaming as if she were in pain. As soon as I picked her up, she quieted down but she would scream bloody murder when I put her back in her crib. I think she may have been having some gas because shortly thereafter, she went number two and everything was fine. But we were up for the day.

So back to the afternoon. We had our usual First Watch this morning and then we came home to watch the Sox and put Calleigh down for her nap. The roommates came over at 4:14 for the 4:15 game. During halftime, I threw some tacos together and Duncan took Calleigh outside. It was absolutely pouring buckets outside but Cal wanted to go out so out they went. She got completely soaked but had a blast and didn't want to come in. Of course, it's so warm here even in the rain that it's not like she was going to catch a cold or something (incidentally, did you hear that a record was set for the Jaquars? It was the hottest game ever in the history of Jacksonville). Before they roomies we left, we worked out the details for going to the game tomorrow. It's very convoluted with people getting off work, Duncan needing to be with Calleigh, et. Hopefully it will all work out. But we're excited to go to the game since the Sox pulled within one game of first place.

In other happenings, on Friday evening we went to the roomies for supper as usual. We had a lovely meal and Duncan was able to hook up their wireless Internet for them as you can see in this picture. The second picture shows the seating arrangement in front of their TV. It gets pretty crowded on that one chair...

Sabbath School was a success this week as there were no birthdays. I was keeping my fingers crossed. Calleigh discovered the joy of felts after the program was over. If my memory serves my correctly, I believe that I was a big fan of felts myself when I was a kid. Shannon and David were with us for the church service and then they sped over to Markham Woods for the church service there. Then we met up at our place for lunch.

On Saturday night, Duncan went down with the roomies to Ikea so that Megan could purchase a couch. Yay! She did pull the trigger but the couch wasn't currently in stock so they have to wait later in the week to pick it up. Afterwards they went and drove Go-Carts and then came back here with Seth Blanchard in tow to watch Anchorman. Duncan did offer for me to go do the Go-Carts (since I do enjoy them very much) but I was in the middle of exercising and watching the Sox mount a comeback so I took a pass. But he would so kind to think of me.

I have more that I could say but it's 9:25 and I feel very tired. Is it possible that I could hit the sack at a very reasonable hour tonight? I think I'm going to go for it. In closing, here is a picture of Calleigh in a new sweatshirt we found in her closet. She loves the little balls that are attached to the sweatshirt. Duncan put the sweatshirt on her this afternoon and every time he took it off, she would cry!

So who all is going to the game tonight? I had assumed that Duncan (and Calleigh, I guess) was going.
