So this was a little dress that I found in the back of the closet. I wouldn't say it's my very favorite outfit of hers but I thought, what the heck? I will admit it does look pretty funny with the hat and her sneakers. By the way, the hat is a new purchase from the consignment store. It's size 18 months - 3 years.
But Calleigh has a big old head so it fit perfectly. This picture was taken yesterday when I took Calleigh for a walk to get the mail. Now that she can walk, I decided to skip the stroller and let her make a go of it. As I told my parents earlier, there is a simple joy in watching a toddler walk down the sidewalk and stop and look at everything in her path be it a leaf, branch, lizard, etc.
She got a few skinned knees out of it too. But she sure did enjoy it despite the embarrassing outfit! So that was yesterday. Here she is today. It rained all afternoon and I very badly wanted to take her for a walk but it was not to be. I finally opened the door so she could see the weather and she just sat there and stared at the rain almost like she understood.Other than the walk, yesterday was pretty uneventful. Calleigh didn't take her morning nap (she just sat in the crib talking to herself) so I knew she would be tired in the early afternoon. So after lunch I took a quick trip to the consignment store and to get some produce. On the way back (7 minute ride), I had so much fun peering in the rear view mirror watching her fight the sleep. I love that she now faces forward so that I can watch her. She kept trying to keep her eyes open - - at one point she even appeared to be hitting herself in the head. But she finally just gave in and her little head fell forward and that was it. She didn't even wake up when I walked her up to her crib.
This morning Duncan and I got a nice little surprise when we went into her room. She had thrown up in three place in her crib. And it was red! That was a scary moment until I realized it was spaghetti sauce. The strange thing was that she didn't make a peep last night even though she obviously was sick. Apparently she got over it quickly because she seemed especially happy this morning and wasn't running a temp or anything. This was the first time she had ever thrown up. Our adventure this afternoon was to the dermatologist. I've had a mole on the bottom of my foot for quite a while and when I looked at it (for the first time in months) over the weekend, it looked like it had gotten bigger. According to my Internet research, if a mole gets bigger, it could be a bad sign. So of course, that had me a little bit worried and if you let your mind wander long enough, you start thinking about worse case scenarios....Fortunately, the doc took a look and sad it was fine. Phew!!
I got a call this morning from Russell Properties this morning to inform me that they received our cancellation notice. She went on to explain that we hadn't received our rent yet because our tenant paid late. And we hadn't received the check from Russell yet because the bank always "freezes their account for five days after they send out all the rent payments." The freeze ended today so they were sending me my check. HUH??? Are you kidding me?? I've never heard of such a thing. A very bizarre story to be sure but at this point, I didn't feel like getting into it. And let me point out that she wasn't saying that Russell wasn't waiting for five days for the tenant's check to clear their bank account. They pay with a cashier's check when it's late, not a personal check. This is a crazy company and I'm so glad to be done with them in two months.
That's the update for now. Here's a final picture of Calleigh playing with some of her toys. We like to rotate the toys that we leave out every few days. She hadn't played with her purse or basketball net in a while. Apparently she had forgotten that it's the little orange balls that go in the hoop and instead stuffed her purse in there and attempted the big ball. She was not successful in case you are wondering!

I think the outfit looks really cute on her. But then doesn't everything. Loved the rainy day shot...I empathize.
