Calleigh was a ball of energy during Sabbath School this week - - sometimes she can be a bit subdued because she hasn't had a nap. But not this time. She was all over the room getting into whatever mischief she could find. And then, as you can see in the video, she was quite excited to say hi to Jesus. She's a big fan.
On Saturday night, we all stayed in and watched the movie, "21.". Since we have sworn off TCBY, at least for a couple days, we had to find some other goodie. I ended up making a dessert my mother makes which is called "Brownie Delight." It's a brownie, topped with a whip cream/cream cheese concoction, and then topped off with a raspberry sauce. The four of us thought we had died and gone to heaven. Yes, it's that good. In fact, since it made its debut on Saturday night, I've noticed people with their fingers in the whip cream container and just eating that. You can't resist it. I meant to take a picture and post it here but I guess you'll just have to use your imagination. If anyone wants the recipe, let me know.
On Sunday, we went to First Watch and met up with a few friends there, specifically Seth Blanchard and two of his friends. While we were waiting outside for our table, Calleigh was trotting around as usual. I noticed at one point that she slowed up a bit. It turned out that she had bubblegum stuck to the bottom of her Croc so we had a good time trying to get that off. Incidentally, I hope the makers of Crocs don't mind that Calleigh doesn't have real Crocs but I still call them that. I suppose it's sort of how we call a tissue, "Kleenex" even though that's the brand name and not the actual name of the product.
Shannon spent much of Sunday studying for a big challenge she had today. She's studying different scenarios of patients that come into the ER that are having heart problems and are coding. So last night, I pretended to be a patient and Duncan was the nurse, and Shannon was the head nurse. Megan called out different situations and Shannon had to figure out what to do. If anyone ever goes into V Fib or needs epinephrine, I'm prepared. Of course, I'm sure I'm not spelling those correctly but that's how it sounded to me and my non-nursing mind. Anyway, Shannon was very concerned that she wasn't adequately prepared but when she got home today, she was all aglow. She aced the whole thing - - just as Duncan and I knew she would.
This afternoon I made my return visit to the dentist. I found out the reason the dentist was gone when I was there about two weeks ago was because he was on a mission trip to Costa Rica to provide free dental care to the needy. So I guess that was a pretty good excuse.
Tomorrow Ron & Elaine are leaving on a big car trip to Atlanta, Detroit, Burlington, VT, Scranton, Baltimore, DC, back to Atlanta, and then home. They are visiting all the kids and then some along the route. Shannon will be looking in on the cats and pool while they're gone. Good luck with the furballs, Shan! But hey, at least she's a cat lover. They'll get back one day before we get back from Nova Scotia.

Hi, It is my usual time that I can find the time to leave a note. It is 11:59 PM Tuesday but before I am finished it will be Wednesday morning 7/30/08. Well as usual Calleigh is adorable. Those Crox are precious. I don't quite understand how anyone can wear them for a long time. I have tried but just hated them on my feet. Thats "OLD PEOPLE" talking. Well, within a couple of days you are heading to Arichat, NS -- you lucky people! Hope the weather is going to be better than what I am hearing. Remember me when you are picking those blueberries and bring some back for me. Take care and happy that the package arrived finally by mail. Talk again, Love, Aunt Shirley PS - Get that kid to say Shirely -- it will pay big dividends.
