Moving On Up

Today was a big day for Calleigh as it marked her first day in the Kindergarten class for Sabbath School.  Her new class is upstairs (Cradle Roll is in the downstairs portion) and we're now able to just drop her off.  No parent is required (or encouraged) to be there.  She's been excited about it all week but then as the time came and we walked her to the door, she was a little apprehensive and wanted us to say.  But a few minutes later, Braelyn arrived and then she barely gave us a second look when we left.  Duncan went to spy on her towards the end and came back to report that she was in the wrong room!  We had gone to the room that the class was usually in but didn't realize that had moved it.  There was a lady in there that had taught the earlier class and when she saw kids come in, she decided to stay.  I have no idea why she never said a word when we dropped Calleigh off but there you go.  Oops.

Her new class...only it turned out to not really be her new class.
With Calleigh gone, Aubree is now back into her regular class for the 0 - 2 year olds.  They changed the room all around and now they have multiple people doing the teaching which I think is a great idea.  We notice that Aubree usually clams up without Calleigh around but she did pretty well today and participated in all the activities.

The twins, Aubree, and Brady.  Despite the looks on all their faces, I do think
they were happy to be there!
I decided to nurse Brady in the mother's room this week rather than try and maneuver in the pew again.  All went well until he did a GIANT spit up which went ALL over my black dress, the rocking chair, pillow he was on, floor, himself, etc.  Ahhh!!  Why can't you be more like your sisters, little man??

Thursday morning we went over to Yolanda's.  They were out of town on vacation starting the day Brady was born and were gone for a couple of weeks.  It was great to catch up with them.  Since it's the summer, the older girls, Hannah and Alyssa, were around and Calleigh and Aubree just love them and vice versa.  Naturally, those girls were also smitten with Brady, particularly Hannah (who is nine) and she held him for a good portion of our visit.

Friday I was hoping to make it to a few yard sales but it ended up raining.  There were still a few going on and we did drive-bys but nothing appealed to me.  We ended up going to the Goodwill (to suppress me need to get a good deal) which as expected, turned out to be a challenge as far getting around inside.  The girls had their snacks and they want to be sitting down to eat it.  They tried to sit in the cart but found there wasn't enough room to sit there since I had Brady's car seat in the front part.  What to do? I ended up having to just carry the car seat around.  At least my arms were getting a good workout.

Last night Brady set a new record for length of time between feedings at five and a half.  He ate at 10:30 and then not again until 4:00.  He may have gone longer too but I couldn't take it any more and had to get him up (he was making noises so I'm sure he would have woken up very soon anyway).  I had woken up shortly before 4:00 to find my shirt all wet.  Yup, I had leaked all over the place since I hadn't nursed in so long.  But the worst part was that I was in agony, hence my having to wake him up.  Unfortunately after he ate and went back to sleep, I ended up having to nurse in two hour intervals the next two times, apparently to make up for the long spell.  We'll see what tonight brings.

I had an interesting conversation with Calleigh over breakfast the other day.  I don't know how it came up but she proceeded to talk about dying and that it was okay to die.  She proceeded to explain this to me.  "It's okay if you die.  You just die and go into a little box."  She pauses to think about the box thing.  "Yeah, it's like a little white box.  Then, after awhile, you come out of the box and go to heaven.  So it's okay."  I think this may partially stem from the box that we have Marlee in at the top of the closet (note to self, remember to bring it to Nova Scotia).

I think that's it.  We have quite a few things coming up for the holiday so I should have a lot of pictures to post next time.

First time in the Baby Bjorn.

Riding her bike at Grandma and Grandpa's.  Aubree is SO excited about having
her own helmet (which is actually Calleigh's)
