Well, I believe that this week has marked the end of Aubree's morning nap. She had been going down faithfully from 9:45 to 10:30 but about the past five or six days, she hasn't fallen asleep and I've had to get her up after a little bit. So I think I'm ready to say it's officially dead. I'm not sorry about it at all. We have much better flexibility without the nap...although it also is the end of my throwing Calleigh in for a morning tub while I fold laundry so that part will be missed (Aubree's too little for me to be in the bedroom while she's in the tub). I think the Aubree would cheerfully go down for a nap around 11 or 11:30 (that's the time she always falls asleep in her car seat while we do yard sales) but I'm definitely not sitting at home all that time. And it's really too close to the afternoon nap anyway.
The end of last week was pretty uneventful. The yard sales were pretty lousy on Friday although I did find the suitcase I had been searching for - - or so I thought. When I got it home, I realized it wasn't quite as big as I believed it to be so that's kind of a bummer. Since you have to pay for checking bags now, you want to have as big of a bag as you can get away with and sadly, this is not it. Fortunately for $3, I don't feel like I wasted a whole lot of money.
On Sabbath we decided to visit our old church, Florida Hospital Church. I've been wanting to go there for awhile - - mainly to check out the Sabbath School. My old boss's wife, Heather, is one of the Cradle Roll leaders and I heard it was a very good program. Since becoming a leader myself, I'm always interested to see what other church's do. The thing I liked right off the bat was that they separate it from 0 - 30 months and then 30 - 48 months instead of like ours which combines it into one group. Heather wasn't teaching but it was still well done and Aubree was engaged pretty much the whole time. Duncan took Calleigh and said she enjoyed it too. So I was happy with that. The church service, however, was not exactly up my alley. They have two contemporary worship services with one of them being at the traditional time of 11:30. I'm not the most conservative person ever but I am a PK afterall and I must say the music and be-bopping up front was not my style. But hey, everyone's different I guess.
After naptime we zipped over to the Isidro's for some fellowship and food. We hadn't seen them in a couple of weeks so it was nice to catch up and see the progress the twins have made (they're already three months old!) The meal was Fondue which Calleigh had never had before so that was interesting. She liked the dipping but I think she liked just eating the marshmallows even more! We saw their new Town & Country minivan that they just got and they've now joined the minivan contingent which by the way, also includes my parents who just got a new Kia Sedona. It's just like ours except it's blue. Welcome all! By the way, I quickly noted that Allen and Tangie had removed one of the captain chairs so that they can easily get to the back row where the twins sit. What a great idea! I've been thinking about how when there are eventually three kids, the challenge of having to get one of the kids (whoever draws the short stick) out of their car seat in the back row of the minivan. That would definitely put a damper on my yard sale activities. But here's a great solution.
Madelyn and her great grandmother
This morning found us at First Watch without Ron and Elaine who are on a business trip up north. Alas, I had to order my own potatoes instead of inheriting theirs (as they watch the carbs). Later on , we went to Old Navy and a consignment store to look for a few items for the trip. I've been trying to get the girls to try on all their cold weather stuff because it's been awhile since they've worn them and I'm concerned they won't fit. It hasn't been a fun endeavor by any means. Anyway, that has resulted in needing some new jeans for Calleigh since she's now size 4T and apparently I hadn't found much at yard sales thus far. Problem solved after a quick stop at the consignment store. The one challenge I'm having, however, is finding a pair of Crocs or the equivalent for Aubree. We've finally started putting shoes on her mostly on a daily basis and Crocs are really the easiest way to go. But they're impossible to find! They don't make real Crocs in anything less than a size 4 and I can't find any knock off Crocs any where. So frustrating! We did have one pair but we left them at the Isidro's so I guess I'm going to have to try and get those back some how.

After naptime we went to Ron and Elaine's for a swim although they obviously weren't there. As we pulled in, Calleigh asks if Grandma and Grandpa were there (I notice that she asks a lot of questions that she already knows the answers to). We said no and then she said in a perplexed voice, "Who is going to make the food then?" Clearly she's very used to going to Grandma and Grandpa's house on Sunday afternoons and having supper there. When we were done swimming and getting changed to go home she put up a little fight insisting that she wanted to eat but we convinced her to eat at home instead (only because we happened to have left over macaroni & cheese which she LOVES).
