Keeping Up with the Cuz
Cousin Camden had some pictures posted recently of his first sliding experience so we had to keep pace. Her pictures certainly aren't the cinematography or some other fancy photography word that Camden had but I think it's pretty cute! And yes, she did actually go down the slide. She wasn't just posed there. Ha!
We had a great Sabbath as we usually do. I wrapped up my month of teaching in Cradle Roll which is a good thing because I was getting pretty darn sick of the story of Isaac and how Sarah had him at such an old age. I understand that kids have small attention spans but it's tough reading the same story for a whole month. Calleigh could definitely handle a new lesson every week. Anyway, although I've taught the class in a few recent months, I've now signed up to be a leader for the class when the new term starts in July. Should be fun!
Listening to the singing at church.
Saturday night we had the whole gang over to celebrate Megan's birthday which was the day before. We had tacos, cake, and rented "The Blind Side." Duncan was outvoted on the movie choice so that's what we ended up with. I didn't get any vote because I was putting the kids to bed but it didn't really matter. I paid bills during the movie. I have a really, really hard time committing myself to just sitting and watching something two hours long unless it's something I'm very interested in. But everyone seemed to enjoy it and the evening was a good time. Aubree definitely enjoyed herself. Yully put her on Calleigh's tricycle and she had the biggest smile on her face! I think she thought she was a big girl.
Sunday we were on the hunt for a new vacuum. We seem to buy a new one every few years so we made the monumental decision to spend a little more than one might ordinarily think of paying for a vacuum. This decision seems to have worked out for my mother so we're following her lead. We couldn't find what we wanted in stores so now I'm patiently waiting for my vacuum to be delivered on Friday. I won't say how long it's been since my house has been vacuumed...
Yesterday I finally got some organizing done that has needed to be done forever. I went through Aubree's clothes and boxed stuff that doesn't fit and stocked her drawers with 6 - 12 months stuff although there's a bunch in that size that is still a bit big. And yes, she is 10 months. Obviously she's on the small side. But I also needed to go through things and pull out her preemie stuff. We're going to be loaning it to Madelyn Isidro, the girl twin, when she decides to make her appearance which could be any day now. We're having a shower for Tangie on Sunday...if the babies don't come first. They aren't due until May 2 but you know how twins are.
This evening we took a stroll after supper to get the mail but we had only made it about 20 feet when we ran into our neighbors that I mentioned in my previous post. We ended up chatting with them for a good 30 minutes while Calleigh ran around with Roby. I got kind of nervous for a second though. We had been there for a few minutes when Calleigh says to them, "We saw you one time." I panicked and thought, "Oh my goodness. Did I tell Calleigh that it was them on the monitor? She's going to tell them we saw them on the monitor." I tried to quickly smooth it over but then I realized that she just meant that we had talked to them outside like this a few days ago. Phew.
I don't think I have any other news to report on the girls. Calleigh said her first word on March 29 so I'm waiting with baited breath to see if Aubree utters one tomorrow to keep up. Fingers crossed!
In closing, I want to put in a plug for a documentary that we just purchased. It's called "The Adventists" and it will be airing on many PBS stations over the Easter holiday. The 1-hour documentary "offers several moving, intimate stories of healing. Historical re-enactments show the church’s beginnings and breathtaking medical and surgical techniques show the way forward for this confident, committed faith community." The film features stuff about Florida Hospital so obviously we have a special interest in it. We'll be watching it Friday night.
We went to a different Publix today and they had this other kind of Car. She did like it despite her face. Poor Aubree was missing her steering wheel but it didn't seem to phase her.
Calleigh wanted her hair braided today. This was the first time she's had braids and they are very teeny tiny. Apparently it was a hit because she asked if she could keep them in when she went to bed.

Loved the update. Did Aubree get her word in by the deadline?
Dad
Is it me or are they getting cuter everyday!?! Thanks for keeping us updated.
A word to the wise: if you don't want your neighbors to know something, it's probably not a good idea to write about it on a blog! I've learned the hard way that people actually do read blogs that you might not expect. So, just consider it!
And, secondly, taking still pictures has nothing to do with cinematography!!! :-)
And, thirdly, it is a good thing that "The Adventists" is only one hour long, not two - otherwise you wouldn't be able to watch it. ;-)
Just thought I would let you know that I can't imagine having any other vacuum than an electrolux--they last forever and really work well. Also--nothing quite like a baby lux (not sure what it is called) I got it at a yard sale for the office and the suction is unbelievable, great for a quick mess. Love the braids!
