I don't know what it is lately but Calleigh has been falling asleep in all these weird positions or locations. Just as I was about to start writing here, Duncan called me up to see where Calleigh had fallen asleep this time. I'm not sure if she was trying to leave her room and then just got so overwhelmed with fatigue and fell asleep before she could quite make it out or what. I'm also happy to report that she can comfortably wear those zip up jammies tonight. We had a lot A/C scare this afternoon when the temps started going into the 80's in the house. It appeared no cold air was blowing out. Yikes! Fortunately we solved our problem by replacing our A/C filter...something we haven't apparently done in many years. It was pretty nasty. Note to self...we may want to do that more often.
I've been somewhat delayed in posting this week due to the arrival down here of my brother, Rick, and his entourage. He came down with his friend Ana and three of her cousins. They got here this morning but in preparation, I had to do some major cleaning last night. My back was not very happy with this plan and I must admit that for the first time, I actually felt really pregnant. Thankfully it was easily solved by just lying down and all was well again. No harm, no foul. Anywho, they arrived here from Maryland at about 10 am and we saw them for two minutes before I had to hit the road for a dentist appointment (this time to get the wire replaced that's behind my bottom teeth). I dropped the girls off at Yolanda's, came back and had lunch there, and then returned home only to find Ricky about to leave. So I saw him for two more minutes. We won't see them until Friday afternoon now because they're staying at Megan's for the next two nights. Nonetheless, the girls were very excited with even just the short visit so far. Calleigh must have told me at least five times last night how happy she was that Uncle Ricky was coming.
As far as other activities, Sabbath afternoon we went over to the Isidro's for a big potluck lunch in honor of the twins birthday. They turned one yesterday. Jennifer made cupcakes and cookies for dessert and indeed, it was very hard to choose which one. Calleigh was quite clever though. She chose a strawberry shortcake cupcake and she ate it all except for the very last little bite. She then came over to me, presented the tiny little piece and said, quite sincerely I might add, "I don't want this cupcake any more. I would like to exchange this for a cookie." Oh, how I had to laugh at that one. I think in the end someone did give her a cookie so she lucked out. And yes, as a pregnant person, I thought it was only fair I had both. I almost had a little catastrophe on my hands though. April 16, 2011 was nearly recorded in the annals of my brain. There were a lot of people there and a lot of food. I asked if it was all vegetarian and was told it was. There were some very nice looking meatballs and I took one and there it sat very nicely in the middle of my plate. Just as I was about to begin eating, Duncan, or someone, came charging out to where I was sitting to report that the meatball was indeed real meat. Whew! Crisis averted.

Monday was one of those days where I decided we were just going to stay home and take care of some much needed business around here. I've been needing to go through the girls drawers, yet again, and get things cleaned out and new stuff put in. I swear, why do I feel like I do this every few months?? I only got through Calleigh's stuff and then I was thinking, why bother trying to organize Aubree's stuff when it's all going to be moved to Calleigh's room in the not to distant future anyway? This then triggered in mind the fact that we've done virtually nothing to prepare for baby boy's arrival in 7 weeks time. Can you tell it's a third kid?? He has a (very) few clothes at least but I haven't gotten any decor for the room to convert it to a boy's room. I need to get Calleigh a new bed. I need a swing (ours broke during Aubree's infancy). I'm sure there's more that I'm not thinking about. Anyway, I figure it will all work itself out at some point. Maybe if he gets a name we'll feel more urgency!
I think it was Monday evening and I was peeling a mango for the girls and Calleigh wandered into the kitchen and says to me "Mom, you shouldn't be peeling that mango. You should have dad do it because he's a man." Good thing I'm not into women's lib or I'm sure I would have been going bonkers over this statement.
Yesterday we did the usual story time and Target. Nothing too exciting to report there.
This morning as I was one my way back from the dentist, Duncan called to tell me that he was the proud new owner of an iPad2. He sold his other one some weeks back and finally decided he really needed one again (he uses it a lot for work). He went to Apple on a whim and it turned out they had gotten a few in stock this morning so he was in luck. So, Duncan is a happy camper once again.
That's the news from here. I'm not sure when I'll post next as I think everyone will be over here Friday and Saturday night.

Nice news, as usual!
On your next blog could you be so kind as to include a pic or two of Ricky's new friends? Or even friend???
Papa
Are you any closer to a name for baby Grodack? I'm very interested to find out what it will be!
