Happy Easter!

To sum up the day we had, I'll use a quote from Calleigh,  "When can we have Easter again?"  So yes, it was a fun day, especially for a kid.  Of course, the concerning thing is that Easter seems to be more representative of having a good time rather than it's true meaning.  I did explain to Calleigh several times about how Easter came about so hopefully that will eventually sink in.

The day started out with breakfast at First Watch, per our usual.  We were concerned that with it being Easter it would be much more crowded (we never have a wait).  As I was getting Calleigh out of bed and dressed, I told her we should try to hurry because it might be really crowded at First Watch since it was Easter, a holiday.  To which she responded "Why?  Are people more hungry on holidays?"  Ha!  Anyway, it did turn out to be more crowded and we had a bigger group (David, Yully, Aunt Sherrie, Uncle Kevin) so that added to it.  But, once we got our table, we had our usual good meal.

Following that, we went home so I could do a quick clean and pack up our food to head to Ron and Elaine's.  The Isidro's and the Bergherm's joined us and we had our traditional Easter egg hunt, swimming, and sandwich bar.  The hunt went very well although some ants had infiltrated a few of the eggs that contained popcorn.  Oops.  Aubree was a very good participant and collected many eggs in her own basket.  It was precious to see her excitement when she would spot another egg.  It's amazing when you think about how things have changed in a year's time.  Last year she couldn't walk and just sat there and ate berries.  This year, I was smart enough not to put berries in the eggs since the blackberries are so messy!  Live and learn.  Anyway, after the hunt, the kids (sans Aubree) went into the pool and they had such a good time.  Calleigh could just live in that pool, seriously.   The highlight of the festivities, at least for me, was eating one of Jennifer's cupcakes.  They are so good!  I brought some home and I can barely contain my excitement about eating at least one more when I'm finished with this posting. We wrapped up the day, after naps, by hitting up CVS and Walgreens to get the weekly deals...albeit very small ones.  I got a little frustrated with an older lady working at Walgreen's who clearly was not up to speed on their coupon policy.  I tried to buy some Splenda that was on sale for $2.99 with a $3.00 off coupon.  They're supposed to reduce the value of the coupon to the $2.99 (because they don't give you $0.01 back) but she wouldn't do it.  I could have made a fuss but since I go there often, I didn't want to be "that lady."  Next time, I'll go equipped with the policy.  As I said, live and learn.

Going back a few days...Thursday morning we went to Publix.  This was the first week I actually did not go to Walmart at all.  I just didn't have it in me.  That evening, David, Yully, Aunt Sherrie, and Uncle Kevin, who had just arrived in town for a 10-day visit, came over for pizza night.  Ron and Elaine popped over too.  Duncan, unfortunately, was not here for most of the evening as he had to go down to the Gaylord Palms hotel to the Awards Banquet for the hospital (this is where they give our awards to people hitting milestones like 15, 20, 25 years, of service at the hospital.  Only two more years until I hit 15 but I don't know if I'm going to make it.  We'll see!)  But, who needed Daddy when the girls had Uncle Kevin?  He is so much fun which I'm sure you can see from the pictures.

Friday was back to yard sales, yay!  We had a very successful day.  I found a bunch of baby boy clothes and some stuff for Calleigh although she'll have to grow into them.  But most importantly, I found a bunk bed, including one mattress, for $20!  I was pretty excited about the find.  It isn't anything fancy but for $20, you couldn't go wrong.  It's a small set in that there isn't a ladder or anything, which I found very appealing.  Of course, I'm not prepared to actually use it as a bunk bed yet because I'm planning to keep Aubree in her crib until as long as possible even though the space saver would be very nice.  The beds make very good single beds too so that's nice.  I'll try to take a picture of them for next time.

Friday evening, my three aunts, as in Aunt Wanda, Aunt Shirley, and Aunt Mary came over for supper.  There main goal was to see Ricky.  He and his group went to Disney on Thursday so we didn't see them at all.  Friday they went to the beach but then came to our place for supper.  So we had a big crowd.  We had a nice time getting to know Ana and her cousins better and the aunts seemed to be on good behavior, one in particular.  All in all, a good evening.

Sabbath was our usual routine as far as church and Sabbath School.  As I think I've mentioned, I've been teaching this month.  I've been sending Aubree into the class with Calleigh though because she tends to just hang onto my skirt when I keep her in the class with me.  She's very jovial in Calleigh's class though, as Duncan reports.   After church, we went over David and Yully's for lunch and Ricky and the crew came as well in addition to Uncle Kevin and Aunt Sherrie who are staying there.  As usual, it was a delicious meal.

Aubree was so proud of setting up these little bears "All by myself."

Yully's flan is mighty delicious.  I would know. I had two helpings.  One for me and one for the baby.

I thought we might somehow see Ricky again either yesterday or this morning but it didn't happen.  So unfortunately, we didn't get to see quite as much of Uncle Ricky as we would have liked but we'll take what we can get.

This week should be fun since Aunt Sherrie and Uncle Kevin will be around for the whole week.  I'm sure we'll take some sort of adventure.

In closing, here's my usual posting of Calleigh asleep in an interesting location.  This time is was for a nap.  She fell asleep with the cannister of cashews balancing on top of her milk nuby.

Have a great week!
