This will probably be a fairly short post as Duncan has returned this afternoon from a three day business trip to Kansas City and I should probably be bonding with him rather than typing away on my computer. Before I begin, let me start out by saying that my camera was found. Yay! I called the church first thing on Monday morning. They had someone go down and look and called me back to say sorry, they couldn't find it. I started to try to figure out if I was really absent minded and left it elsewhere (I really didn't think so) or if there were dishonest people at church. But then, about an hour later, they called me back and said someone had turned it in and they had it. I went and picked it up yesterday afternoon and now we're back in the picture business. It's not like anyone would have wanted the camera anyway. It's got all these black spots on the view finder. It almost looks like I'm trying to black out people's faces who don't want to be seen.
This morning we went to Red Bug Lake Park for story time and a puppet show that was being put on by the Seminole County Library System. They are doing this about eight times during the months of September and October and we finally came to a date that wasn't on Sabbath so off we went. Yolanda and Emma met us there. We were fortunate enough to get a spot right in the front row. The ladies did a great job doing the stories and then we finally got to the puppets. Some of them were actually puppets and then some of them were stuffed animals and you could occasionally see the person's hand holding on the animal. I don't know if Calleigh expected something different or what but after the puppet show had gone on for about five minutes she says, VERY loudly I might add, to me, "When is it going to be the puppet show?" Just a little embarrassing. I told her this WAS the puppet show and thankfully she didn't comment further. After the program was over, the girls all played on the great playground and then Yolanda was nice enough to bring some sandwiches and snacks for a picnic lunch. Then it was home to wait for Daddy's arrival! Duncan got home at about 2 pm and was able to catch Calleigh before she went to sleep. Aubree saw him afterwards and let out a giant squeal. So cute!

| This is such a typical Calleigh face of how she looks when she's completely engrossed in something! |

| Yup, you guessed it. Calleigh had just gone up this so Aubree made a beeline over to it to do the same thing. |
Single parenting has gone as well as can be expected the last few days. Obviously our daily routine was unchanged. Monday we went to the playground in Altamonte along with a stop at Walgreen's. I now usually hit up both Walgreens and CVS a couple of times a week to get some free stuff or nearly free stuff. Of course, the visits have to be very short as the girls get rambunctious very quickly. Yesterday we went to Winter Park story time since Casselberry has an off week.
Calleigh has been very into the story of Jonah lately...this was fueled by watching the Jonah VeggieTales movie in the van. Yesterday she confided in me that it was too bad that the whale who got Jonah wasn't Shamu because Shamu would have played with Jonah rather than eat him. I decided it wouldn't be nice to mention that even Shamu can be mean since he actually killed someone earlier in the year. Anywho, another time we were talking about something that I can't even remember and I said something like, yes, they have those in Florida in some places. And Calleigh says, "Yeah, like in Maitland, Nineveh..." So then I had to explain that Nineveh was not in Florida but on a different continent. It's so funny how little kids have no concept of things. I think she actually believes that the story of Jonah just happened recently and some place near here.
Aubree is well. Her sleeping comes and goes. Some nights it's the whole night and some nights she wakes up several times but fortunately is going back to sleep quickly with a binky reinsertion. She's finally just started saying "binky" although it kind of sounds like "minky." I was reading back about Calleigh and I noticed that she called it a "ming ying" at the beginning so apparently it's easy to use an "m" instead of a "b". I'm actually surprised that it took Aubree that long to say binky because she's been rolling along with so many other words. But my favorite word that she says is Calleigh which is pronounced "Ca-Ye" in Aubree speak. It's so sweet...if Aubree gets up before Calleigh in the mornings, I'll nurse Aubree in her room on the bean bag and then I'll ask her if she wants to go wake Calleigh up. So she goes out the door, into Calleigh's room, "runs" over to Calleigh's bed all the while chanting "Ca-Ye, Ca-Ye" and rests her head on Calleigh's back (Calleigh's usually sleeping on her stomach). You can tell she's so excited to see her! I so enjoy seeing the love between the two of them and I see it all the time. Every time we leave the house to get into the van, Calleigh insists on holding Aubree's hand so she doesn't stumble on the part of the sidewalk that's uneven. Or tonight when Calleigh was in a time out for pushing Aubree (in play, not anger) and she was sitting in her chair crying, Aubree immediately went over to her and tried to hug and comfort her as if to say "It's okay. I'm not mad. I love you." I could go on and on and maybe sometime I will!
Well, I should end here. Have a great rest of the week. Here a couple of pictures on my camera from the weekend.
 |
| We wanted to get a picture of the three friends but this little boy kept getting into the picture. He's cute though! That's Noah on the left in case you can't tell. |
 |
| This is Maddox, the birthday boy. We tried to get a picture of he and Aubree but the only time he cooperated was when he sat right in front of her! |
 |
| The extent of Aubree doing dress up is putting on just one of the dress up shoes. Always one. Never two. |

There's nothing like coming home when love awaits you!
Papa
Hi there. I am a local Mom here in Central Florida too. How do you find out about the different activities you go to? I love reading your blog because of all the places you talk about I am very familiar with. Kind of cool. LOL.
Suzette, glad you enjoy the blog! For this particular event, I saw it advertised at the library - - I'm sure because they are the sponsor of it. For other things, it's a good question on how I find out about them! Sometimes from friends. Other times it's just seeing things advertised at the various places I frequent. Good luck to you.
