Sea World and the Sickies

Sea World
This will be brief as it's 10:40 pm.  I just wanted to at least give an update on things before we leave tomorrow for the wedding.  As things go, we haven't been up to much lately.

Sunday was our only day of much activity.  We went to Sea World since we got a free ticket for Calleigh due to Duncan's and my annual pass.  We had to use it be 9/30 so we figured now was a good time.  I must say it was hot as blazes.  I know that's no surprise because it's summer and this is Florida but for some reason it just seemed especially hot.  As it turned out, we were only there for about 2.5 hours...just long enough to do some of the kiddie rides (barely anyone else was on them so that worked out well) and the Shamu show which admittedly, didn't quite seem so exciting due to that trainer's death.  Nonetheless, Calleigh enjoyed it particularly the end where you shout "Shamu, Shamu" and put your hands together like a whale tail.  Even Aubree was shouting "Shamu" and trying to copy Calleigh with the hand movements.

Cooling off in the mister.
This picture montage I call "The Faces of Aubree"

Waiting while Duncan and Calleigh ride the roller coaster.
Waiting to get on the carousel.  Notice the big crowds.
"Hmm, will this tea cup ride make me sick? "
"Hey, there's Shamu.  That would be exciting if it wasn't like 150 degree right now."
We've been keeping a low profile since then.  Monday was supposed to be our big beach day with a bunch of friends but as it turns out, Duncan wasn't feeling his best (severe headache and congestion) and Calleigh developed a slight cough (which Duncan and I have both caught although it's very mild fortunately).  We've only ventured out to the airport yesterday to drop off Ron & Elaine and then to the pet store today to get dog food.  Amazingly Aubree has not gotten the pink eye or any of our other symptoms - - knock on wood now - - perhaps due to the fact that I've tried to keep our hands clean and make sure she doesn't drink out of Calleigh's Nuby.  However, yesterday Calleigh offered me a drink out of her cup and when I said no, she said "No, it's okay.  You can get my germs because you're my mommy and you take care of me."  And then in a blatant misinterpretation of her memory verse she added "I'm sharing my germs with you.  It's like my memory verse says 'Be kind to one another.'"

Tomorrow afternoon we leave for Boston/New Hampshire for Shannon's wedding.  Of course, we've been busy packing.  Over supper this evening Duncan was reviewing the schedule for the weekend and says to me "So we get up, put on our jeans..." Calleigh quickly interrupted and said "No, that's a JOKE.  I'm not wearing jeans.  It's TOO hot."  We did explain at that point that it's not quite as hot up there as it there.  It actually looks like it will be a very comfortable 70 while we're there.

So that's that.  Nothing else of excitement here.  I have had a few early mornings this week due to sickness/teething, etc but nothing too severe thankfully.  I won't complain that my kids woke up at 5:30 or 6:30 since I know many kids wake up at that time all the time.
