Boy, the Lord really knew what he was doing when he created the Sabbath, didn't he? After a busy week of working, it sure is nice to have an evening and a day tomorrow without having to worry about assets not reconciling, deadlines, or getting my house cleaned. I can just put my feet up and relax. Despite not having much time for myself, the good news is that my health is just about back to normal and it's wonderful! I'm no longer hoarse and I don't sound like my mother when I cough. The other good news is that despite my breathing in Calleigh's face, kissing her what seems a million times a day, and handling her food (I tried to wash my hands constantly), the little bugger didn't get an iota of my sickness. Knock on wood.
It appears that the cold temperatures are leaving us behind, at last. I felt bad because Aunt Lori and Uncle Charlie picked the worst week to be here. I finally had to bite the bullet and put the heat on a few days ago when the temps outside were in the low 30's and it got to be in the low 60's and dropping inside. I hate turning on the heat in Florida and I always try to do without but for Calleigh's sake, I gave in. Plus, my hands were getting a little numb as I typed on my computer. Fortunately, the weather forecast calls for temps to rise to the 70's in the day so we'll be back to normal. The warm jammies and sweaters can be packed away once again.
We had a nice supper this evening. We went over the cousins for waffles which we haven't done in forever. I think Calleigh was a little thrown off when we walked in and there was a decorated Christmas tree still up but you know, it's only about a month after Christmas so I suppose it's sort of normal to still have it up. Ha!
There aren't too many highlights from earlier in the week. Monday we went to the mall, Tuesday was story time, Wednesday was Monkey Joe's (yes, I guarded my camera very carefully as I returned to the "scene of the crime" where it broke). We tried to avoid doing things outside because of the cold. No, I didn't watch any of the inauguration which is typical. Regardless of who is becoming president, I find the whole thing kind of tedious. Sorry to say! The funny thing is that I had three people contact me in a span of about five minutes to tell me that Obama is left-handed. Which, of course, being the left handed connoisseur that I am, I already knew. And in fact, John McCain is left handed as well. So that leaves us with the very fascinating fact that five (Ford, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Obama) of the last seven presidents have been southpaws. Considering that we only make up 10% of the population, this is quite something. Of course, this all reminds me of my failure to produce a left handed child to date. Sadly, Calleigh appears to be right handed. My research tells me that a left-handed mother and a right-handed father have a 20% chance of having a left-handed child. Perhaps there's hope for the next one. Or maybe I'll just have five kids and one will sure to be a lefty! Is that how that works??
I think that's all I have that's of interest. Tomorrow night is the big night! Papa and Gigi fly in. Unfortunately Calleigh will already be sawing logs when their flight arrives at 10 whatever but I told her that when she wakes up on Sunday morning they'll be here! I also told her that Uncle Shawn will be coming next week and to that she says "Uncle Ricky too?" I wish he were.

Well, I hope you won't mind returning to Qdoba when I'm there!
And by the way, do I need to make a personal phone call to David to make sure that I will see him when I'm there - and his lady friend?
No, no. We don't mind at all. I love that soup!
David is planning on being here for the Superbowl so I think you'll be able to see him without a hitch.
