The last few days Calleigh has been going crazy asking for songs. I'll sing her a song and as soon as it's over, she says "Song." This repeats itself for as long as I can stand it. This morning I must have sung a good 15 songs in a row before I finally had to tell her I couldn't do any more. I went through the repertoire of Christmas songs, Sabbath School songs, etc. And then when I don't do any more she gets upset and starts whining, "Song," "Song," except she drags out the syllables. I suppose I should feel flattered as there is not a single person on this planet besides Calleigh who has ever asked me to sing a second song after I've sung the first.
We've been quite busy the last few days. Sabbath was a great day in that we made it probably through 75% of the sermon before I had to take Calleigh out. We're making progress! It was a really good sermon too so I hated to miss the last part of it. Sabbath School went well since the walker from last week was inaccessible. The only problem is that Calleigh just doesn't want to sit still for long. She wanders all over the room while the program is going on and Duncan constantly has to get her and put her back in her chair. At one point, she took one of the little chairs, dragged it to the back of the room, and sat in it. She was much farther away from the teacher and the other kids but apparently that's where she wanted to sit.
Yesterday morning Duncan, Calleigh, and I (Shannon met us down there) headed down to the outlets for some shopping. Allen gave us a 30% off coupon for our entire purchase at Banana Republic, Gap, and Old Navy so we decided to make good use of it. We got a few things for Calleigh and Duncan got some needed work clothes so it was a successful trip. We felt a little chill though since it it was only in the 50's when we arrived. My heart was warmed however when there was someone waiting for our parking spot when we left. Isn't it nice to see people shopping and spending money?? We did our part to help the economy.
This morning Calleigh and I went to story time at Leu Gardens. I know Calleigh was disappointed because there were no bubbles but we still enjoyed ourselves. In fact, she's been repeating the lyrics over and over to the song "How Are You Today?" that we sang there.

After Leu Gardens, we met up with Duncan at the hospital to do a tour of parts of the new tower. It was an employee open house. Next Monday there is a big celebration to open the tower officially and on Tuesday the new Emergency Department opens up. So we had a sneak peak and it is really neat. The ED is humongous. There are 70 beds and I swear you could get lost in there. Good luck Shannon! But seriously, it's amazing because I asked one of the nurse managers that was there how many more people would be staffing the new ED compared to the old and he said "none." Wow. We got to see the patient rooms and they are very nice. The windows are from the floor to the ceiling so there is lots of light. They have a new lakeside cafe opening up too and Shannon told me that she heard it is all vegetarian. Yippee!
Calleigh said something this evening that I had never heard her say. Duncan had just gotten home and she had followed him into our room. I was in her room and I yelled down to her to come to her room because we were going to read some books. Usually I say that a few times and eventually I'll hear her little feet pitter patter as she runs to find me. This time, she yelled back "I'm coming, I'm coming" perfectly clearly as she ran to me. I couldn't believe it!
Today Calleigh turned 18-months old which means tomorrow we're going to the pediatrician. That should be fun. Yeah, right! Today also marks the first day of the 2nd trimester for me and I'm so thankful that the 1st went so well.

I loved the pictures, especially the Sabbath School ones. Glad to see that SS is alive and well. I miss being involved in Cradle Roll...sometimes. Esther loved to be "sung to" also, only her word was "'gin"! I used to make up songs about her and then couldn't remember how they went! She didn't seem to mind.
