We have pictures. I got a memory card from Ron so my old camera is functioning once again. When I looked at the few pictures I've taken, I have to say that they're not so great. But it will have to suffice for the next three weeks. I talked to the camera repair shop on Monday and they said that they ship it back to the manufacturer who guarantees they'll fix it for $110 - - but it would take three weeks. It took a little while to decide. On the one hand, repairing a 6-month old camera for $110 is definitely cheaper than buying a new one for $280 or what have you but the new camera would be shock resistant which could mean we would never have this problem again. In the end, my checkbook spoke to me. So Cal and I made the trip to the camera store this morning. We're hoping to get it back by Thanksgiving. I hate not having the video feature!
Yesterday morning I dropped Calleigh off at Ron & Elaine's so that I could go to the dentist for a cleaning. I'm on a three month schedule with cleanings. Ever since I got pregnant with Calleigh I've been on this schedule. When you're pregnant or nursing, apparently the hormones that get all out of whack also do a number on your teeth and gums - - they bleed a lot more. And I thought it was just because I don't really floss! Anyway, the cleaning went well and then I zipped back to Ron & Elaine's to have lunch. They actually left today for a 2-week trip up north to visit all the kids. So Calleigh and I are on cat duty. Of course, we won't be doing the litter since that's big No-No.
This is a non-partisan blog so I will leave out my comments on the election. But I will say that Calleigh and I did cast our vote yesterday afternoon. Well, really, just me. But she was very supportive.
After her nap time, we hit Publix for a few things. I had my things on the conveyor belt and just as it was time for the cashier to start ringing me up, I realized I didn't have my wallet with me. That's what happens when I go somewhere by myself, in this case the dentist. I put my wallet in my purse and then forget to transfer it back to the diaper bag. So I loaded the stuff back up and off we went to put it all back. Fortunately, we only had like nine things so it wasn't so bad. This afternoon we went back and bought the same nine things again - - for real this time.
This morning, as I said, we dropped off the camera and then stopped at the Fashion Square Mall. Usually we go to Altamonte but since we were in the area of Fashion Square we went there instead. I have to say that they should really think about their set up there. The playground that they have at Altamonte is really an attraction for people with small children. It's something for kids to do besides walk around. I do to that mall just for that. At Fashion Square, they have nothing. Not even a little ride that you can stick $.50 in. So we won't be going back there - - at least after Saturday night. Santa (aka, Noah) is arriving along with music from the Nutcracker and food and games. Sounds like a fun activity with Calleigh. Hopefully there won't be any tears where she sees "Noah" (like there were last year).
Some things that Calleigh is into this week:
- The song "Jesus Loves the Little Ones." She keeps pointing to herself and saying "me, me, me, Jesus." And then "you, you, you." So I find myself singing the song to her many times a day.
- She's still into talking about Sabbath School. Every day she's talks about it and every day I tell her how many days are left until we go back.
- Whenever I ask her how's she's doing, she says "Good."
- She's obviously confused about a baby being in mommy's belly. Now she points to her belly and peers at it and says "baby." Maybe once my belly is bigger, she'll get it.
- Maybe this is just a coincidence I don't know but she was talking to me about bikes and said "Mommy bike." And I told her that I don't have one but Daddy does. So she said "Daddy bike." And then she said "Daddy share." Does she possibly understand that? A few days ago she had some food in her hand and she said share and gave some to Duncan so maybe she does. Who knows.
- And oh yes, she hasn't completely transitioned to the new wake up time yet. Monday morning she was awake at about 6:20 although I got her to go back until about 7. The least two mornings she's woken up at 7 and 7:10. So we'll see if we eventually get back to 7:30. But who can blame her really? I'm still waking up an hour early myself since it's so light out.
One other thing about today is that I noticed Calleigh seemed pretty warm although she was acting perfectly normal. I finally took her temp late this afternoon and it was 101.7. So I gave her some Tylenol. Her nose is just the very slightest bit runny. Hopefully she's not coming down with something.
Well, I need to go make Duncan's lunch. He has an early morning meeting so I need to do it tonight.

Keep up with the Tylenol every 4-6 hours and alternate it with Motrin in between if her temp is still up high. It's probably just a virus!! Poor baby Calleigh!! Feel better Cal!!
I'm worried about that foot stool she's sitting in. Could that top go down and smother her? Just asking. I'm glad the pictures are back.
That picture of her little feet coming out from underneath the laptop is priceless.
Of course, I'm a little worried about what she's doing on the laptop.
Fear not all my worried relatives.
Calleigh is doing fine this morning. I haven't taken her temp yet but she doesn't feel warm. She had a very good night of sleep and didn't get up until 7:45. Mother, yes I suppose the top could go down while she's in there but it would only close if she's lying in a prone position which she's not apt to do because of all the stuff in there. Besides, what do you think - - that I just leave her downstairs to roam around on her own. I'm always right here! And Shawn, she's just looking at pictures of baby Calleigh. Nothing harmful!
Historically, Cradle Roll Sabbath School has been (at least during my tenure) saturated with opportunities to "share", so I'm bettin' that she understands it.

Corey I am perfectly confident in your parenting skills. I'm sure Calleigh is doing just fine =)
