Our lives have been fairly dull lately. Due to Calleigh's fever (which officially subsided on Wednesday), we were home bound for a few days and quite frankly, even when she's fine, it's a challenge to get out of the house. Part of the problem is that you can't be gone any where for long or you have to time it just right because of Aubree needing to eat. The other problem is that we don't have a double stroller yet so then you have to figure out how to maneuver the two. We went to Target on Wednesday and I put Aubree in the Moby, which did work out well, but getting it on while you stand outside in the 90 degree heat is not very fun. Having said that, we will definitely need to get out more next week because I go crazy just sitting around the house.
Thursday morning I had my check up at the doctor. Duncan met us there because I knew I wouldn't be able to handle both of them while I was up on the exam table. Dr. Breit checked me out and proclaimed that my incision looked very good. Phew. I was concerned he would be able to tell that I had been doing some lifting! He told me that I'm not supposed to do any for another four weeks. So that's a bummer but the great news was that I could resume my baths. I took one last night and it was heavenly.
After the appointment, the girls and I went over to Ron & Elaine's to meet Kristine and Jonathan so that the kids could play in the sprinklers. Elaine was going to be on a business trip with Ron but she came back early and it turned out to be very helpful to have her there considering I have a newborn and Kristine is just about 9 months pregnant.
This morning I took Aubree in for her two week doctor's appointment. Thankfully Calleigh was very calm since she knew Doctor Anne would not be looking at her. Everything checked out very well and these are Aubree's measurements:
- Weight - 7 lb, 7 oz. Started at 6 lb, 9 oz, dropped to 6lb, 2 oz. She's now in the 25th percentile. I was very relieved to see that she gained significant weight. Obviously she's eating well.
- Length - 21.5 inches. Started at 19 inches. She's now in 90th percentile. It seems like 2.5 inches is a lot to grow in just over two weeks so I wonder if the original measurement from when she was born was off? The one today looked correct.
- Head - 36.7 (centimeters?). I don't the original measurement for this but the measurement today is just about average.
I know I have no pictures on this and it is now Saturday night and I wrote this all on Friday but I'm just going to post it so it's out there.
