You know that saying that goes something like this "You must have been dropped on your head when you were a baby?" Usually it's said to someone who has done something really dumb. Well, you'll be able to say that to Brady when he gets older because that's about exactly what happened to him. Sometimes people ask me if I can tell the difference between having a boy and a girl and I can say without a doubt that it seems like more things have happened to Brady than either girl.
So...the setting was Thursday and we were at Costco where you will typically find us most Thursdays late morning. Brady and Aubree typically ride up in the seats in front of me (it's a double) with Calleigh walking. Today they decided they wanted to sit in the other part of the cart and I obliged. All went very well. As we paid at the self checkout, both clamored to get out to help and out they both came. I boxed up our goods and then we started walking to the exit. If you've ever been to Costco you can appreciate how crowded it is as people are trying to leave. It's like a zoo and people are practically bumping into you from every side. It's not very conducive to small children trying to maneuver it on their own. It seemed like Brady was about to get run over by a clueless cart so I grabbed him and threw him into the back of our cart so we could make our getaway. He let out a scream of frustration at being put back into the cart and in the time it took me to walk around to the front of the cart and start pushing, he threw his leg over the side to climb out. All I can remember is my saying "BRADY!!!" and in the next instant I heard that terrible, terrible sound of a skull hitting a hard floor. Oh, I tell you, it was HORRIBLE. I rushed to him and thank goodness, he immediately started crying. I touched his forehead and couldn't find anything that felt broken. Various random people came up to me (since yes, I'm sure dozens of people witnessed the incident) and asked if I needed anything and I told them I thought he was okay. I just clutched him to me for a couple of minutes to calm him down and make sure everything was okay and then we made our way out of the store. I couldn't stop shaking though. Aubree ended up needing to go potty so we pulled into a CVS right next to it and when we went in, Brady insisted on walking and he started running down the aisles and laughing as if nothing had happened so that was a great comfort to me. I sent Duncan a text telling him what happened and after a few questions on his part he texted "I dropped one of them at Publix once out of the cart so don't feel bad." Huh! Information that I never knew. Anyway, Brady is no worse for wear so it all ended up fine but it so could have gone the other way and I just can't shake the sounds and images out of my mind. Thank you Lord for watching over my little man.

| I sent Duncan this picture from the CVS bathroom to prove he was okay. |
 |
| The whole way home I couldn't stop staring at his little face in the rear view mirror. Boy, they were so right when they talked about how much little boys steal a mommy's heart. |
Sunday we had the twins birthday part which was held at the Isidro home complete with a big bouncy house. It was a nice day but started raining about 10 minutes after the party ended so you couldn't have asked for it to work out any better. The party started at 10 am so we enjoyed a delicious brunch. Aubree and I were sitting next to each other at the table eating and she leaned over to me and whispered "When is the party going to start?" I laughed..."This IS the party, silly girl!" Apparently eating cake and singing Happy Birthday is the real party. That part came soon enough and we had another delicious birthday cake, courtesy of Jennifer, of course.

| The little kids enjoyed the play kitchen set up outside. The one on the far right is ours that we lent out for the occasion. It's nice to be close by! |
 |
| Aubs enjoying a slide down. |
 |
| Another phenomenal cake. Jennifer keeps one upping herself. Where does it end?? |
 |
| Enjoying his pancakes and whip cream. |
 |
| The twins do their thing. The party has now officially started. |
 |
| We had to stop and admire Allen's garden which he built himself. Very inspiring and exciting! |
Right after the party Duncan went to Lowe's and bought his very first lawnmower. Since it's been the "off" season with the lawn, we haven't had to mow in months except for one time about two months ago and Duncan had borrowed Allen's lawnmower. Our yard is very symmetrical so I personally think it's a waste to pay someone to mow it when you can do it yourself in like 30 minutes. Now that we're getting more rain and the temperatures are really heating up, the grass is starting to grow so it was time to finally get our own mower. It rained the rest of the day Sunday so he couldn't try it out and then on Monday we had someone come out and aerate the lawn. Basically your lawn needs to be aerated if it's become really compacted and water isn't getting down to the roots. We were told this was an issue by a company that has been fertilizing our grass, etc. The aeration process moves the soil around so that water and nutrients can get to it and thus, make it healthier grass. Anyway, that was done Monday so Duncan couldn't do his mowing until Wednesday. All went well. Hopefully he will not tire of mowing after a few weeks!
 |
| How things look after the aeration. It actually looks like a small dog came and pooped all over your lawn. |

| Taking a picture of one of the chunks to send to Daddy. |
Monday was our typical stay at home day so we got some things done around the house. The big thing that did happen that day was that Calleigh lost her first tooth via natural causes. One of the two bottom ones which were the original ones that were loose came out. She was just wiggling it around with her tongue and out it came. I felt bad though because I was on a really long phone call with my boss when it happened and when she came down and showed me the tooth, I had to try and contain my excitement. When I finally got off, she commented that she hoped the "tooth fairy" would leave $3 so that she could keep one for herself and then give one each to Aubree and Brady. Of course, that's what I did.
I think I'll just show you the rest of our week in pictures...

| Now that Brady is moving on to a size 5 shoes, it was time to pull out the giant bin of shoes from Jennifer. The kids all found some dressy black shoes in their sizes and had a great time running around with them on. The girls got a kick out of wearing boy shoes. |
 |
| A few weeks ago I got some never-been-used Highlights High Five magazines from a yard sale...like 25 of them for $3. We've enjoyed reading them and one of them had a recipe for these banana muffins called "Monkey Muffins." I kid you not, they are like the best muffins I've ever had. We had a great time making them too. |
 |
| At Old Time Pottery....finally found a boat shelf for our beach room that we've been looking for. We got the bigger one. |
 |
| Calleigh got this water "tool" at Old Time Pottery with her money from her tooth. She keeps referring to it as my "gun" and Duncan decided we weren't too comfortable with her talking to everyone about her gun. At any rate, Brady has loved squirting water with it too. |
 |
| Enjoying the splash playground in downtown Winter Garden. |
 |
| My cousin Jonathan (David's brother) was in town from Texas to lead out at the Forest Lake Academy music clinic. He's in charge of the music program at Southwestern Adventist University. He popped over on Wednesday for a visit. |
 |
| I dressed them all in orange on Thursday and a lady at Costco stopped and asked me if they were triplets. She was obviously very old. |
 |
| Watch out, Brady! You are being stalked. |
 |
| This cat was slinking around our back yard and eventually let Calleigh touch her. |
 |
| A little playground activity before bed Thursday night. |
 |
| Friday evening we went to Grandma and Grandpa's for supper and the pool was officially opened for the season. It's at 78 degrees. |

Little Man dressed for church. He is obsessed with his sandals that I had found in the shoe bin. He will only take them off to go to sleep if you put them on the dresser and he can see them from his crib. I had actually bought these sandals on clearance at JCPenney like four years ago long before I ever knew that I would have a little boy and now, here you go.

A few quotes before I close...
Calleigh was taking a load of her stuff upstairs in an attempt to get things cleaned up downstairs. She had a few things in her hands already.
Me: "Calleigh, please take this up with you too."
Calleigh: "I can't do anything more. I'm a handful."
Indeed.
This morning as we were getting ready for church Aubree was coloring in her coloring book and wouldn't share any of the pages with Calleigh which prompted the latter to come and report to me.
Calleigh: "Mommy, Aubree isn't sharing with me."
Me: "Well, it's her choice if she wants to share or not but go and tell her that if she doesn't share, I'm going to have to come in there and have a talk with her."
Calleigh (goes back into the bedroom where Aubree is and the rest of the conversation is reported to me by Duncan): "Aubree, Mommy says you better share that coloring book right now or she is going to take it away from you and give it to me."
Duncan: "Calleigh, did Mommy really say that?"
Calleigh: "Well, I may not have heard her properly, but I THINK that's what she said."
On the way home from church we see four police cars on the side or the road. Three of the four cars have their lights flashing.
Aubree: "Why does one of the cars not have it's lights on? Hmm, it must be out of batteries."
Have a great week!
