First Year Stats & VBS

We've had a lot going on hence the lack of a post this past weekend.  Before I get into any of that though, I wanted to catch up on last week.  I'll give the festivities it's own post.

I took Brady in for his one year appointment last Tuesday.  We saw Dr. Smith which was the first time seeing a male doctor.  I was always very sensitive in having a male doctor when I was a little kid so I really have wanted to make sure my kids have a doctor of their same sex.  We finally managed to do that with Brady.  I was very glad we did because I liked Dr. Smith right away.  Of course, my main concern with Brady has been his small size but Dr. Smith was quick to reassure me that there was nothing wrong with him.  He's just small.  He said there are signs they look for that would signify that something is wrong and thus the lack of significant weight gain but he couldn't find any of that.  He indicated that Brady would most likely hit puberty late and yes, be smaller than other boys his same age but would eventually be around Duncan's size.  Good words to hear.

Stats:

Weight - 17 lbs, 4 oz, off the chart (Calleigh was 20 lbs and Aubree 18 lbs, 8 oz for comparison)
Height - 28 1/2 inches - 25th percentile
Head - Don't have the measurement but it was the 25th percentile
Shoe Size - 2
Clothes Size - 6-9 months

The other big thing of the week, as I mentioned in the last post, was VBS.  You may recall that after the first day, Calleigh was talking about not going back because she didn’t want to miss out on anything we were doing without her.  That all changed after Tuesday’s session when she declared that VBS was her favorite thing in the world.  In fact, I think she felt pretty bad that she was missing the last day including the closing program as were going out of town.  I think I felt just as bad because it really is a cute program with the kids singing the songs up front.  Oh well.  Next year we’ll have two of them in it.

Her leader was Lauren

The mascot, Scout

The 4- and 5-year olds practicing their song

Yup, he's a boy!

VBS wore her out.  When I asked her if she had a good nap she said, "I wasn't sleeping.  I was watching the rain."

Our last activity before departing on our trip to Maryland on Friday morning was an impromptu trip to our new neighborhood because we had to pick the exterior colors of our house THAT day.  No pressure!  I was not in any mood to be doing that since we still had a thousand things to do to get ready to go but we had no choice.  Thank goodness that Allen was available to watch the girls while we undertook that process.  Tangie was at a work function so it was just Allen and the five kids but all went well.  This is why I'm glad to have close neighbors!

The colors we picked although on a completely different house.
More next post on our trip to Maryland.

I'm getting caught up! Love the colors you picked out! It took me a bit to figure out how to maneuver around your new blog! But I like it!
