The weekend with the Isidro's started off on Sabbath where we saw first saw them at Sabbath School, naturally. Aubree continues to be a real pain in the neck in Cradle Roll where she'll insist I go up with her to do everything - - put felts on the board, give her offering, etc. Again, this is all the result of being by herself whereas if Calleigh were around, she would have no qualms whatsoever. I'm hoping she's going to get over this very quickly
Saturday late afternoon/evening we drove over to the Isidro's for some supper and fellowship. The girls spent time on the swing set and a little slide/pool thingamajigy that the Isidro's got at the great Target clearance sale that I missed out on by being in Nova Scotia. As luck would have it, they had bought two and so now we're the proud owners of a little slide/pool thingamajigy too to be set up in Grandma and Grandpa's back yard. More on that later. Anyway, the temps had cooled down enough that we could actually sit around their little fire "pit" in the backyard and make smores (for those who do marshmallows. Yours truly definitely NOT included). It was a glorious evening to just sit out there and enjoy the weather and the company.
Sunday morning we did our usual First Watch and then had some time at home to get a few things done (read: laundry). And then mid-afternoon it was off to the Whitakers in Deland..a visit that we invited ourselves to. We had found out the previous evening that the Isidro's were going over there and so we decided to tag along. I had wanted to go for awhile now to see Ashley as she's on bed rest being pregnant with the triplets. The girls (Macey, Marley, Braelyn, Maddy, Calleigh, and Aubree) outnumbered the boys (Kohlden and Brady) and you could definitely tell by all the girly shrieking going on. The boys will at least gain another man when the triplets (two boys and a girl) are born. Ashley is 30 weeks pregnant right now and is confined to her chair/bed/house and I know it's a real pain in the butt to have to manage your household from the sidelines. I give her credit for handling it so well. As of now, they'll be born on October 5 if they don't get here sooner (hopefully not). Anyway, it was a really fun visit for the girls and we enjoyed the hay stack
potluck.

In honor of the Labor Day holiday, we headed to Ron and Elaine's after nap time for some swimming and food. Yes, not unlike every other weekend but hey, it's a great time! Duncan had gone over a little earlier with Calleigh and decided to blow up our new slide/pool thingamajigy. About an hour later he sends me a message saying he'd been blowing it up pretty much the entire time since he had gotten there. So Allen and Tangie, I now see why this thing was on clearance at Target! At any rate, I assume there is a better way which we'll have to figure out.
Today we went to story time. And that's pretty much what happened today. We've been having problems with our DirecTv and the guy was supposed to come today between 4 - 8 but he called at 7 to say he'd have to come tomorrow instead. The good news on this is that I could actually understand what he said since usually it's someone that can't speak English that comes. No offense to those of you who don't speak English. Anywho, we have had a bunch of channels not coming in for at least a week. We thought something happened during Irene but Irene really didn't do much. Duncan finally went outside and determined that it looked like some tree branches were now blocking the dish. Now, we have no idea if we're allowed to just cut branches off our tree so Duncan waited until it was dark and then snuck part way up the tree with these giant clippers he had borrowed and snipped a few of the branches off. That seemed to do the trick. Unfortunately we're having some other issues now and had to put in a service call.
Not too much new with the kiddos. Brady is still coughing and one of these days I'm going to call the doctor's office to see what I should do next.
I'll share this one quirk of Calleigh's. She HATES to have anything wet on her clothes or touching her. If my hands are wet, she'll avoid my touching her at all costs, for example. So this evening she gets her pajamas on for bed and as I'm getting Aubree's pajamas on and making funny faces at Brady to keep him entertained all the while, I hear screaming coming from the bathroom. It turns out that Calleigh has gotten a minuscule, and I mean minuscule, drop of hand sanitizer on the sleeve of her pajamas. She screams out "IT'S RUINED" as if it's the very worst thing that could ever have happened to her. She proceeds to freak out crying for like the next five minutes until I finally remove the offensive shirt from her body. Now, a normal person would simply go and find a new shirt to put on with the pajama pants that you're already wearing, you know, to keep things as easy as possible. If they happened to not match, no big deal. Nobody is going to be seeing you sleeping in your bed. But oh no. Calleigh freaks out again when I suggest a top to put on. They were not a set so she refused to wear them (kind of strange considering that she doesn't mind wearing a pink and purple striped shirt with a yellow and orange polka dot skirt). Finally, she gets on a complete new set of pajamas and I breath a sigh of relief that the trauma is over. Guess again. As she walks over to where I am (I think to hug me to say sorry for all this), she trips over something and half lands on Brady's head which now causes him to start crying hysterically (don't worry, he's fine) which then starts Calleigh crying hysterically (Aubree is just mutely watching all of this). I finally get Calleigh calmed down after I assure her that Brady isn't deformed or anything. Because she was crying, her nose has now dripped a little and she wipes it on her sleeve. I then notice her looking at her sleeve very intently and I hold my breath thinking, if she tells me she can't wear that shirt because it's wet, I'm going to lose it. Fortunately, she can't find anything and instead goes over to the bureau to get a tissue. I make some sort of funny joke or something and she laughs and then all of a sudden she goes from laughing to crying and screams out "I'm peeing." Yup, sure enough, she has just peed on the floor. So now we have to go to yet a third set of pajamas and I spend the next five minutes cleaning up the mess. Finally, Aubree is in her crib and I've said goodnight to Calleigh and I start thinking of a nice bath or some "me" time (although none of that actually happened. I worked on organizing my 1,001 bins of kid clothes). All is well for about five minutes until I hear "MOMMY, I think I have poop in my underwear." She wasn't wrong. There was just a little bit in there but just enough that we had to get a new pair of underwear. Thankfully, pajama pants # 3 were saved. Yes folks, this is just a typical evening in the life of a mother.
On the note, have a great rest of the week!
Oh, one last thing. I did actually post a link to the broccoli recipe in last week's post but I guess people didn't realize it was there. So click here for it if you missed it.

Very nice post and version of your weekend with us. Mine will go up tonight, of course! We had so much fun with you guys and of course are so very lucky to have you as friends. Have a great weekend!
Quite a night! Ah, yes, thank God for patient mothers.
As far as the broccoli--sounds great but it would need to be without the garlic.
Papa
I read the entire Calleigh story to Terry and he couldn't handle it! I forget how hard it is with kids but they are sure worth it.Love your three and miss you all much.
Corey, Corey, Corey. We are still laughing at the girls antics. Between the bedtime prayers and meltdowns you do manage to interject a ton of humor. Thanks for the laughter.
