Camera Down....Again

Apparently we made the wrong decision on whether to get our camera fixed or to just buy a new one. I picked it up a week ago yesterday and we're already having problems. Last week it took some blurry pictures and then today, the lens won't go back in and it won't even take a picture. There is a 3-month warranty on the repair but according to the paperwork from the place I got it fixed, it is the discretion of the company as to whether they will refund the money or repair it again. Boy, I sure hope they can just give me a refund. If I have to have my camera taken away again for another three weeks, that will sure cause a problem with the whole Christmas thing. At this point, I think we want to buy a new camera and be done with it. I'm going to go in the morning to see what they'll do for me.

Calleigh has been enjoying the Christmas tree and all the lights. Whenever the lights aren't turned on, she gets upset. Yesterday we got home from somewhere and it was my intention to leave the lights off until we took the dogs for a walk. But Calleigh immediately went to the tree and started whining, "Lights on, lights on." I didn't give in, of course, but I don't blame her about always wanting the lights on. It is definitely nice and cozy when the place it all aglow. She's also taken quite an interest in the dancing snowman that we have. It's the one pictured above. He's not a real stuffed animal per se since he's on a pedestal and has some wires and stuff in him but Calleigh carries him around like he's a regular old stuffed animal. That is, when she's not pressing the button to get him to sing and dance. Oh, and I should mention that so far, only one ornament has bitten the dust. That was within the first hour of her seeing the tree. Duncan purposely left this cute ornament on a low branch because he knew she would like it. She did and when I tried to get it back from her, she threw it on the floor and it broke into a million pieces. I told her that she had broken it and that was too bad. Apparently she caught on to what broken means because the next morning, she was playing with a soft ornament and the next thing I know she's saying, "Mommy, broken." Sure enough, the little string the you use to hang the ornament on the tree had come off. It was indeed, broken.

We haven't done anything too terribly exciting the last few days. I certainly won't put the Patriots game on Sunday into that category. That was a mess. And yes, David "Bad Luck" Wall was here watching it with us and the losing streak continues. But, they were playing a tough team so I won't blame David for the loss. Speaking about David, for those of you who may be wondering about the young lady, Julie, who has been in some pictures with David, I can confirm that she is David's girlfriend. She works for Adventist Health System in the IT department. We think he made a good choice.

Yesterday Calleigh and I went to storytime and she got to see her bubbles. I asked them if they did bubbles for the 18 months - 3 years old group and they said no. I was sure Calleigh would be disappointed with that since that is the highlight, by far, of storytime but nonetheless, we went today. There wasn't as much singing which was a downside (although singing the Hokey Pokey was a good time) and her attention seemed to wander a bit but it was still fun. At the end, she got a stamp on each hand of a bear and she seemed to be quite taken with that. She kept saying thank you even after we were well out of earshot of the person who gave her the stamps.

This evening Duncan was in charge while I went out to Panera with my friends from work, Heather, Nicole, and Piglet. We hadn't had an outing since early September so it was a delight to catch up with them and all the news. I had to wear my turtleneck and sweater there since it's only 48. That's cold for us! I could easily see my breath. Christmas must be coming!

So hey, did you know that you can buy cases of Loma Linda and Worthington veggie food on Amazon? I found out about it quite by accident on Thanksgiving when I went to the Amazon home page and there right in front was a picture of a can of Big Franks. I did a double take. Of course, I can get my cases at the ABC which isn't too far away for me (although not everyone can say that) but it's always a pain to try and get them to the car with Calleigh. I ordered a case of burger and vega-links for $68 (a good deal!) and because of my prime account, got free shipping. They arrived this evening at my front door and I'm tickled at how easy it is.

We discovered another neat thing the past few days when we started using video chat through Gmail which apparently is a pretty new tool. So we've talked to my parents, Shawn, Camille, and some other relatives a few times and it's been great! The sound is really good. Much better than talking on speaker phone, that's for sure. Calleigh was able to sing "Jesus Loves Me" for Gigi and do her ABC's. I'm sure we'll be using this frequently.

One thing I've forgotten to mention about the pregnancy is the itching. I had this last time too. My back is always itchy! Sometimes it's my stomach too but mostly it's my back. I know this is fairly common with pregnant woman. I just can't remember if it eventually goes away as the weeks progress. Something tells me no.

That's it for now. Have a good evening!

Glad you got your veggie meat. Shawn and I ordered some yesterday. This is so much easier than trying to get all of it at campmeeting time.

I have been itchy as well, but I'm using cocoa butter which helps alot.

Allison seems to think that I threw up because of ecoli in the large salad I had eaten that night, even though I individually washed each piece of lettuce. I think she's right, because it seems to be a one time deal. Yea!!

Wow! Calleigh knows "sign language"? I guess she is more brilliant then I knew. (You said that she was able to "sign" Jesus Loves Me for Gigi.)

And, I won't say that I told you so, but I was definitely nudging you in the direction of just getting a new camera (the same one Camille has). Sorry that it hasn't worked out, though. Hopefully everything will work out.
